I have no problem meeting at Alex's, so long as someone can pick me up.

Standard offer: gas money and beer for your trouble.

Weather looks like it could rain a bit, but not enough to cancel.

The weather forecast is degrading.

I'll post here Saturday morning if we cancel (using Jeff's call of "pissing rain cancels"). You can also call/text me at 206-354-9537. If we have steady rain between now and Saturday we may want to talk about going to Duthie or another place that drains better than Paradise Valley (which EvergreenMTB mentions as turning into a muddy mess when there is a lot of rain).

I'm looking forward to week three of playing in the mud.

cliff mass doesn't think much of our chances:
A second system gets here Saturday morning and as you will see, the rainfall, particularly in the mountains is far more serious (1-2 inches being widespread)--see map below for 24-h rainfall ending Sunday at 5 AM. Bad for hiking! But you can escape the rain on Saturday by heading to eastern Washington or by positioning yourself in the rainshadow to the NE of the Olympics.

Life is what happens while you're waiting for the weather forecast to predict desirable weather.

Not saying don't pay attention to it, I'm saying that trying to plan around weather predictions is a great way to lose a lot of borderline days - of which the PacNW is largely comprised of, especially this time of year.

I go into this expecting to get wet. Everything after that is cherry on the cake.

Bingo.

Might have to make a front mud deflector from an old inner tube like Andy has between his crown and stanchion arch.

Might have a muddy ride, but sometimes that's just the way the gravy crumbles.

That.

you don't need to golf clap, your first rule was pissing rain cancels.

i'm tempted to duck out too, but still leave my house as a meeting place and where you guys can talk me into it. if i don't go mountain biking i'll do some other bike nerdery (probably defined as visting bike shops and drinking beer) with john that anyone else is welcome to join in on.

If today's off, are we interested in trying for tomorrow?

Awwwww Yeeeeeaaah! Super muddy fun. Andy, Alex, Andre, John, Fred, Lee and I had a blast. In time-honored fashion I wiped out in the parking lot after the ride while goofing around.

Duthie was muddy, but only a couple of bigger puddles, otherwise just as fun as ever.

I stayed on my feet all day at Duthie and then went down in my driveway…

My brakes work now that the rims got machined with mud, enough to scrub the front knobby tire on asphalt.

They make these fancy things called disc brakes now-a-days. Consistency in braking is not over rated.

This Mountain Bike vid will be premiering at Chop Suey around 8pm-ish tonight, looks like it'll be pretty awesome.

Check out the trailer for a tease:

Cool story: I trained with Marco in France of '06 back when he was vying for the 20" UCI worlds,.. okay so I rode near by and watched as he dominated rocks like Bruce Lee on a bike,.. but yea awesome transfer of skills into the all mountain realm.

One of my friends took a year off of working for Naked Bicycles and documented it artfully here.

Hopefully this years race footage is even better. Heard there were a bunch of crashes.
