They make tools for those?

Seriously though, I'm guessing I'm not the only one here that's made do with

I: a long threaded rod, nuts, and fat fat washers
II: PVC pipe and block of wood.

Or something of the same flavor. But I'll let people more knowledgable and less stupid than I chime in.

What model headset? I have the right tools for Chris King and Crank Bros headsets (plus other ones). I don't want to loan them, but I'm happy to help you here.

If you do all thread it is nicest to use bronze bushings that support the inside of the headset cup. Washers aren't ideal.

It's an Origin 8 1" threaded. As much as I'd like a Chris King, it's a bit out of the budget :).

Lee how late do you work Mondays? I can be home by about 7:15pmish. I'm guessing you work at the Fremont Google.

Heck, I once they're in, you can have 'em right back too!

And I don't suppose you happen to have a 16-notch bottom bracket tool, do you? Someting that could work like this one does:

I just can tighten my ISIS BB all the way with my single tooth bracket wrench. It's starting to round out the teeth on the BB cup, so I stopped trying.

Bikeworks, the bikery, and the bike shack all had open, pretty much free, diy wrenching hours today. They all have those tools, well don't know if the bikery has the BBT-19.

Unfortunately they were either too far or closed by the time I got to working on the bike. And so was the Wright bros - and they close at 7pm weekdays, else I'd just mosey over there.

16-notch ISIS?

The BBT-19 you linked to is for outboard bearings.

BBT-18 is an 8-notch ISIS tool.

However most cartridge BBS I have worked with (ISIS, octalink, square taper) I have interacted with used the BBT-22

I need a thing that goes around those rings. My single-tooth BB tool just isn't cutting it.

Joe, I thought you only bought the cranks from me. I kept my BBs for some other ISIS cranks I have. And the ones I kept aren't this style anyway, I think I only have the tool because I collect tools.

++. I would love to mosey over to Wright Bros and take care of it, but the work schedule kinda makes that impossible until the weekends. Apparently, there isn't much demand for a bike shop to stay open until 10PM or something.
