I've got the weekend of July 7-8 open for some awesome bike camping.
Where to go/what to do?
1. Midnight Ridaz to Suiatte/Back Fri midnight-Sunday PM
2. BC5 bend 'o the river campsite. (ride to/from Seattle)
3. Some backcountry mountain/Fire road route -suggestions?
4. Train somewhere and ride/camp my way home?
5. Iron Horse?
Anyone else got that weekend open?

Sorry, July it is!
Suiattle is backup plan at this point, I'd rather go someplace new (to me) and I wasn't on BC5.
Another option would be something in the NE Olympics, Dungeness Creek area.

I also missed BC5 and like that idea. I haven't figured out my July 4 weekend plans yet, and have a few different ideas floating about, but I'm a maybe.

I just found out that I can very possibly attend this event. I'd like to go to the BC5 location as I also missed that ride. I'm not super picky though, I'll follow quorum.

yes yes yes, tentatively added this to my calendar.
I have no input for the location (I'm easy), though I would love to visit Suiattle some day but I am sure there will be future expeditions there.
ps. Should this be in Westlake forum?

BC5 is worth the return trip. 2 nights is good. I'm interested.

Hmmm. I'm taking a half-day FRiday, so if there's a later PM headout, I may be able to make it.

Thanks for the input. I'll consolidate in my brain, then post to Westlake forum when finalized. I put this here because I was also asking for advice on potential routes or other locations to check out.
Tentatively I'm calling it for BC5 location, possibly ride out Friday afternoon/evening(not sure if I can skip out on work), Saturday day explore ride, Sunday home via Banner Forest and Southworth-West Seattle Ferry.

Finding camping July 4th weekend in the San Juans seems like a tough mission. It isn't like national forest camping where you can just find a nice spot by the side of a creek to throw down your tent.
The San Juans are great fall/spring destinations though. I think we should go up there in fall when Mt Constitution opens back up to MTBs.

FYI - There are certainly some great rouge bike camping spots I've been to in the San Juans, but I wouldn't suggest more then 5-10 people at them, and building a fire would put you at a pretty high risk for getting the boot... So, that may not be the best option on a busy 4th of July weekend with a .83 crew, but I can't wait to go back up there again...
I ran into Peter here on the west side of San Juan Island one weekend, he was touring the other direction around the island and randomly found this magical spot:
