So yesterday on my ride home along the waterfront I popped my chain. One of the links siezed up and split apart. I was going to just pull the link and ride with the chain a bit short, but I pulled my bike tool out of my commute bag for the Tour de Watertower last weekend. Like an idiot I forgot to put it back. I was contemplating the long walk home when I remembered there was The Bicycle Repair Shop under the viaduct. The guy working there was cool and let me use his chain break. (Hopefully Joby doesn't have a beef with every bike mechanic in the city.)
The point of this story though is that the guy at the shop also let me get cleaned up with some of these. Have any of you used the ProTowels before? It is like other degreasers, but in towel form. They worked really well too. My hands were black and it got everything off. I guess they can also be used directly on the bike as well, cleaning chains and sprockets. I just thought I would mention them because I never knew this product existed and it is better than I never imagined.

I didn't realize there was a bike shop there, good location for those rushing to the ferry terminal.
On the topic of cleaners, I just picked up the Phil Wood hand cleaner, that stuff works wonders too. Plus it feels like you are dipping your hand into a tub of baby poop, always a plus.

Miracle Red cleaner is my cleaner of choice. I've got a full gallon of it at home.
