Ahem, paging Lee and Andre...
Christine and I are up in Bellingham visiting my cousin Lisa (you may remember her from the FHR a few years ago, but I doubt it). Well Lisa and her boyfriend Alan have a 50' power yacht moored in Semiahmoo that we'd love to ride our bikes to, but we have no idea how to get there. They both work tomorrow, so I'm hoping somebody out there knows a route to get there. Kind of last minute, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well I haven't been up in West Whatcom county for over 10 years now but basically there is a lot of farm land West of I-5. I'd probably do something like this.

I added one mod that took you along more of the water along Birch Bay and the Birch Bay State Park. It might be a nice change to ride along the water instead of farmland but I remember not liking that area as a kid so don't feel like you are missing something if it feels like a dumpy beach retirement comunity. I've never been to Semiahmoo though so maybe it's nicer over there.

I did a similar route 3 years ago, but staying on Marine drive, and was also different after Slater Rd, maybe because I had shitty written directions in a pocket instead of a map right in front of me at all times, then I got onto Rainbow Rd>Kickerville towards Blaine. very chill and flat. Marine/Holly around Bellingham and Slater Rd were like the only roads with other traffic.

Andre, awesome route. Farmland flats, rolling hills, roads closed to cars, minimal traffic. It was perfect. SemiAhMoo is a little bit of Florida here in Wa, but we had a blast. L
