tt measures 23" c to c
st measures 23.5" c to c
68mm bb shell
takes a 1" fork which i don't have

note the thing is completely stripped, the picture is for reference becuase i am to lazy to take my own pics.

Check with Kori. She's looking for a frame about that size.

It is 57cmx57cm Raleigh, 531 steel tube set, nice back in the day

only problem, stuck Al seatpost, so it is of no use to me

dean, ive still got about 8 frames on the side of my house. most of the components on them are junk, but the frames are worth digging through

hurry though, i keep bringing them down to the recycled cycles free rack two at a time every couple days

Anything in a 26" frame that will fit a 6'1" fellow? I broke the frame on my grocery bike, and I really need to get working on a replacement.

I'm handy enough to recondition anything that doesn't need welding.

walk up steps, open gate on left side of house, they are right there. close the gate when you're done (give it a good slam).

dont have high expectations though. whatever is left there has been sitting for a while, and might be usable for frames only.
but have at it!

look at ben bringing things back on topic!

i've got this same frame which is the basis for my awesome road bike that is tons of fun to ride, but still pretty cheap ($400). i got it thirdhand, the original owner had stripped it to bare aluminum. i still need to go at it with a little sandpaper and chrome polish and shine it up till it glows.

maybe i should take ben's frame off his hands for when my inevitably breaks in half. (it's my curse)

I'm thinking this frame is too big for what I was thinking of. Lee... How tall are you?

Ah, a man after my own heart. Though I don't think my first broken one counts (Automobile impact).

Did you ever get your crosscheck dropout fixed? I remember seeing it busted on bikepirates a while ago.

i'm rocking the six foot two inches. i tend to ride frames that are a bit small for me, i am pretty sure this frame of ben's is the same size as mine though i haven't measured it c-to-c, i could check mine and see.

also, i've broken only the two fixie frames - the scott tinley technium and my mizutani. it's also possible that i broke the first singlespeed i tooled around on last summer, a blue schwinn - but i think it was broken when we built it up and just didn't notice. i've proudly broken zero road bikes or mountain bikes! (though i have broken bottom bracket axles, seatposts, and of course innumerable wheels and hub axles).

Surly did a warranty replacement on it. Which made me a very very happy bunny indeed. The new frame and fork came in the same day I broke the frame on my grocery bike that I had been using to commute to work:

My tale of woe

It's a 58cm instead of a 57cm, which is actually probably a good thing. One of these days I'll get my fit right...

You're right, the gate was a bitch to open and close. I had a look late last night. Unfortunately, nothing was really suitable. I was momentarily tempted by the KHS, but it was about 8" too short for me. I have a lead on an older heavy crap frame that should suit for my purposes though.

Thanks.
