No not that highway tunnel, or the light rail one, or this wastewater tunnel, or that sewer tunnel

It's the Fremont Siphon replacement project

Fuck what is it with this city and tunnel boring projects?

While it doesn't look like they intend to build or stage directly on the FFP, the Burke will be diverted around the site and a number of trees will be removed.

It might remain possible to get there from the west, but even if they don't fence it off entirely I doubt we'd really be able to use it in our traditional way. I haven't found real construction timelines yet but I'm guessing it'll be at least a year.

I guess you'll have to find a new outdoor environment to trash with abandoned garbage and partially destroyed cans, bottles, shopping carts, etc.

I'm more machine now than man.

If for some reason I ever need to get the plate removed, I propose putting it on a race trophy of some sort. But it has to be a BAD ASS race, probably like half a mile or something.

Still no timeline other than "Fall 2014"

They'll schedule some kind of community meeting before construction starts, so we should be able to plan a memorial ride

saw a bunch of yellow flagging tape around the area last night, thought they were beginning construction but upon further investigation it was just surrounding a huge tree branch that fell off the tree we always almost catch on fire.
If the city doesn't chip the limb maybe we should take care of it?

The little triangular building has been demolished and they'll start digging the pit soon

but the construction plan has changed, they're not gonna take out the FFP trees anymore and the Burke won't get closed there, just a tiny detour: http://www.kingcounty.gov/~/media/environment/wtd/Construction/FreemontSiphon/docs/150506_North-Site-Water-Line-Potholing.ashx?la=en
