now that we have this forum and it seems to be jumpin' jumpin', maybe the link on the front page for forum should be hooked up?
an improved favicon.ico for the site (it looks like we are using the default phpbb one still) would be sexy!
even though we have that very helpful thread we should have a real profile page of some kind; with say five photo slots for bikes and pictures plus a few basic stats.
this is fantastic though, a gold star for derrick and everyone else involved in making this happen!

Derrick tells me he's going to personally finish the site within two weeks. Charles has offered to do it for him as he has all of the necessary skills to completely take over the project for Derrick. Charles also only has two free weeks to do it (and could have it fully completed within those two weeks guaranteed). However Derrick promised me he'd finish it himself and would have it up within two weeks. So I guess if it's not we can call him on it and publicly stone him in the middle of Westlake for letting all of .83 down.
I have faith in him though (despite months and months of "I'm working on it, quit bothering me") and am looking forward to him completing the site. I'm already extatic about the new forum, and will start working on our mailing list this morning!
There's lots and lots that needs to be done to it. Having the forums linked to the main page, plugging in the rest of the info for the profile page (a great deal of the profiles have already been written), correcting the totally fucked up "links" page, updating the photos and race stats (of which Derrick has a fairly updated list of), and ideally a way for us to send word along to derrick about announcements (races, BBQs and whatnot) to have them put on the main page and get a quick turnaround on it.
Keep your fingers crossed, be patient, and in 13 days get your smooth baseball-sized stones ready.

Which reminds me, we should have a smart favicon. Asynchronously poll the server for new posts on the thread/forum you're viewing and make it shiny when we get something.
