The last time we were at Ocean shores (copalis beach) we had enough people to necessitate leasing the group camp, which was awesome. Maybe we'll do that again if we get enough interest.
Otherwise I suggest snagging a campground in the Ocean city campground, I posted the link above.
Camp nights are Friday and Saturday night, the digs are very early Saturday and Sunday mornings.
What you will need:
A LICENSE
There are two options for a clam license:
1. Annual shellfish license (~$15) The advantage to this license is that it is valid from 3/31/15 - 3/31/16 and you can harvest all species of clams, crab and seafood for the whole year.
2. A three day clam license (~$10) This license is only good for the days you select when you purchase the license and for razor clam harvesting only.
Appropriate digging gear
This includes stuff that you would get down on your hands and knees and dig around in the sand while possibly getting hit by the incoming tide.
Examples being rubber boots, rain gear, waders, gloves, flip flops, surf shorts, wet suit, etc.
Something to carry your clams in. Rules state you can dig 15 clams regardless of condition when dug. Each digger must have there own sack or vessel to carry their clams. Bag, bucket, etc.
Clam digging gear can be found on Craigslist and sporting goods stores.
Licenses can be purchased at Fred Meyer, Linc's tackle in the ID or Outdoor emporium in the Sodo.

100% excite.
99% going.
I'll have room for 1 more in my car and a shitty plastic clam gun for the borrowing.
Full disclosure on my remaining seat: the only working seat belt in the back is for the middle seat.

The bro crew will be in Pittsburgh that weekend, unfortunately.
I encourage everyone to slam these clams... with extreme prejudice.

last year Dravis, Fred, and Ben rode out to the beach from the Kitsap Peninsula on an overland route through the south side of the Olympics.
as I recall it rained a lot and there were some navigational challenges. looked like a really cool trip though, the rest of Fred's photos are excellent documentation. Ben was picked up at some point and got a ride the rest of the way.
I took an alternate route; drove my car with the bike to Elma and missed most of the rain. it was a nice ride from there, with the exception of riding on the highway into Aberdeen.
this year, I'm thinking about taking Amtrak down to Centralia the night before and riding out through the Chehalis River valley. highlights include the abandoned nuclear plant at Satsop and the Olympic Club and Hotel in Centralia.
Available to give one other person a ride, in addition to Dada.

Can I 100% claim 50% of your available seats in the 99% chance you will be going? I missed previous years because Saturday job, but this will be my first weekend off in over a month!

Both group campsites were already reserved :-(. There is still a lot of availability but as this is the most productive razor clam beach on the coast I anticipate they'll go fast. I advise getting your site quick and either reserve online:

Jake, do you already have a site reserved? I'm seeing loop 3 completely sold out.
Loop 4 has 9 sites open for that weekend, and loop 1 has about 20ish sites still available.

Based on the satellite, the low number camps on loop 1 look about as close to loop 3 as the available camps on loop 4.
That being said, I'll be at campsite 1 in loop 1 if anyone wants to set up with me in the 'burbs.

Looks like loop 3 is closed and not updated on the site. The usually close the loops that get a lot of weather. I say get any site you can and teaming up is always suggested.
thinking about taking Amtrak down to Centralia the night before and riding out through the Chehalis River valley.
Just to be clear, night before as in Friday?

Howdy!
I'm only going to have one tent, so let me know if you want to crash in my site*. I'll probably have some extra room in the car too.
*BYOT; as much as I love you guys, I'm not sharing my tiny ass tent with you.

I picked up 133 so we've got that whole strip.
I'll likely be driving, should have room for 2 more if anyone wants to call them. Depending on conditions might drive to find some surf though, so my schedule might be a bit out of sync with the rest of the crew.

shitcock. apparently I should have checked my shared Google calendar with the ladyfriend before making said campsite reservation. Well, on the plus side - anyone want to buy a campsite reservation from me?
