Nick, can I drop a bag of gear in your van before you head out? can coordinate that offline.
Not a problem. Also forgot to mention we'll probably be sleeping in my vehicle so should have at least one tent space up for grabs. Looks like these sites have a 1-tent-per-site limit, not sure how strictly that's enforced.

I'll call the tent spot for Jenelle and I, will split site costs.

shitcock. apparently I should have checked my shared Google calendar with the ladyfriend before making said campsite reservation. Well, on the plus side - anyone want to buy a campsite reservation from me?
dibs. if you ever show up at Westlake on a Thursday ride, I'll buy this from you. :)
otherwise, just let me know how to pay for it. <3

Barring weather and sloth, I should be riding this thursday. Which should give me about 1 day to figure out how to transfer a reservation over! :)

Grabbed the tent spot 134 across the street from you guys in Circle 4. 136 was still open when I booked.

In my experience, that's 1 huge tent or two small tents. It depends on the ranger, but I've added an extra small tent before with no problem. As long as you're not abusing the site, you're probably okay; they will have enough actual assholery to deal with with the dig going on.

I need to be on the forums more often as evidence shows I needed to be informed of this ride drunk and by a fire.
That being said. In, so in. I am willing to be wheels and have room for one more...preferably someone with a roof (aka tent) for this currently tent - less lass.

I booked site 35 on loop 1. It allows for 3 tents.
Torrey, one of them can be for you.
May I have 3rd spot? Then it is just tent tracking...

So, actually, after talking things through with the lady, uh, we're back in. BUT, you can definitely share the campsite with us, assuming the ranger doesn't care.

Rob, I am yes but Joe-ing do to not checking with work if I can actually take off all the weekends in spring and still have a job. My site is up for grabs.
I'm not planning to clam, just going to surf fish and drink beer. I have two clam guns (one is Wang's I believe) in my basement that I plan to bring for others. If someone wants to call dibs that's fine too.

I'm emailing the CL person about the gun right now. I'll post the outcome.

It's yours! It's pretty easy to transfer the reservation over online. Get at me on the Facebooks or a ride and we will sort it out.

If Tom doesn't want your extra rod I'm all over that.

Likewise, I'd be up and/or down for a rod. If no one has one, well, I'll just bring a folding chair onto the beach and drink.

The Joby Lafky Corporation sells a wide variety of clam guns. Is there a compelling reason why I shouldn't drop $25 on the enameled steel version?

The steel ones are fine. They rust over time and are a little heavy but doesn't affect performance. They are much more durable than PVC and aluminium versions.

Yes please.
I'll also bring at least one rod since others are expressing interest, not a true surf fishing rod but it'll get the job done.
Gonna need to make a run to Outdoor Emporium for supplies and 2015 fishing license so I'll also see if they've got any good deals on another setup. Rod/reel pricing confuses me, always seems to be a big jump from the cheapo combo kits to the really high end stuff with very little in the middle.

last year Dravis, Fred, and Ben rode out to the beach from the Kitsap Peninsula on an overland route through the south side of the Olympics.
as I recall it rained a lot and there were some navigational challenges. looked like a really cool trip though, the rest of Fred's photos are excellent documentation. Ben was picked up at some point and got a ride the rest of the way.
I took an alternate route; drove my car with the bike to Elma and missed most of the rain. it was a nice ride from there, with the exception of riding on the highway into Aberdeen.
this year, I'm thinking about taking Amtrak down to Centralia the night before and riding out through the Chehalis River valley. highlights include the abandoned nuclear plant at Satsop and the Olympic Club and Hotel in Centralia.
