I'm thinking the best set-up on my Jones Loop h-bar would have my brake levers inside the loop (or above the cross bar). This would require a hinged clamp on the lever. Looking around I could only find hinged clamps on hydraulic brake levers or in-line cross style levers. I've got mechanical disc brakes and the in-line style may work (depending on length/reach) but are not preferred. Anybody familiar with a hinged clamp mtb style lever for disc/v brakes?

Not much out there... only thing I can find after a quick search is the Clark's 370D.

Lots of bmx levers are hinged but watch out for handlebar clamp diameter and mechanical advantage.

There are some older canti levers, but again, not the right cable pull.

but Fred says "BL-T780 are the good hinged clamp mechanical levers" so I'd do that.

Yeah the BL-T780 are the best mechanical mtb levers available, and have a modern hinged clamp

XT T780 levers are amazing by blasdelf, on Flickr

But if you're gonna spend money on mtb brakes you might as well upgrade to baller hydraulics, they're cheap and require much less maintenance: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/us/en/shimano-deore-lx-t675-trekking-disc-brake/rp-prod119957

Another brotip for freeing up space on nerd handlebars like that is to mount the shifters directly to the brake levers. Shimano calls it "I-spec" and you can see it in my picture above.

So very helpful, considering all the results are in-line levers and BMX levers which have the wrong mechanical advantage since they're made for caliper or U-brakes.

I didn't know about that one. Looks great.

Thanks for the finds Colin and Fred. I was also able to find these from Trp:

http://www.trpbrakes.com/category.php?productid=1233&catid=184&subcat=0

So it looks like i have a few options.

And P.S. to Fred: I will not be suscribing to your hydrualic brake newsletter.

they work super duper well and you never have to adjust them

no worries about bleeding, no maintenance other than replacing the pads when they're worn out

seriously you can even cut + shorten the hoses in a few minutes with no special tools, and that's the manufacturer-reccomended way to do it

Shimano is pretty great at this you guys

LOL, Peter Fonda was in TWO rebel motorcycle movies?

I think that means Dravis needs to get to work on his next flick.
