As I'm sure you know the Interurban fucking blows through Lynwood and Alderwood Mall
A standard trick is to ditch it before 405 and take Larch / Locust / 61st down into LFP to the Burke
On the west side you can take Beverly Park Road to Olympic View to 9th Ave and continue on that into Shoreline, either getting on Greenwood or back on the Interurban.

THis is kinda what I was looking for. I''ll prob switch between finishing on the interurban or bombing 44th to Kenmore. I also liked that route we took to Edmonds for BC last year.

It's always a good day when you ride to Snohomish.
The signage still blows, but the Interurban is a reasonable route now. Take 44th if you're heading east of Green Lake/Lake Union. Otherwise take the Interurban to the bitter end and head south. Cutting out between the two is left as an exercise for the reader who lives in NE Seattle; I often abandon ship at Meridian and skirt Maple Leaf at NSCC or take 195th/10th/175th/15th NE to get to my house in Wedgwood.

Rode quite a bit of the Interurban from Fremont northward last Sat. Can say that Stone Way -> W Greenlake -> Linden -> 83rd -> Fremont is more pleasant than grinding up Fremont to the zoo. But it adds 5-10 mins to the overall time and a little extra distance. You can skip the southern of the two pedestrian/trail bridges at 155th. Take Midvale Ave. between 175th and 192nd instead of the trail. North of Aurora Village/SR-104 yr on yr own... we didn't go any further than that.
One last tip: there's a pedestrian bridge over I-5 at 195th... from there it's easy to connect w/ Perkins Way to get to/from LFP and the Kenmore-Bothell stretch of the Burke-Gilman Trail.
