rear derailleur question. my cable routes from the bottom, so that would be a "bottom pull" derailleur correct? not a top pull?
You need a bottom pull.
The cables on road bikes run down the downtube, under the bottom bracket and up behind the seattube to the front derailure, hence the "bottom pull." "Top Pull" came from mountain bikes, inefforts to keep the cables clear of mud they were routed along the top tube then down the seattube to the front der.

I didn't even know there was a difference.
That is the second new thing I've learned today.

jesus holy christ. the only bad thing about ebay is that sometimes you put bids on a few really cheap items, then you actually win all those really cheap items.
if anyone needs any triple crank front derailleurs size 31.8 in top or bottom pull, just ask, im now the owner of 4 of them :)

i should have read this.
i have a few of those laying around.
Not sure on the size though.
But I've no use for them.
I basically have like 2 and a 1/2 road bikes worth of parts.. plus a set up for a single speed.
i keep planning to take pictures and make a list.. but then my roommates moved out, so I don't have a camera any longer. sad day.

im running sora's on one of my bikes and havent had a single problem ever. i havent even ever had to adjust them once. ive been happy for being low end
I run sora 8spd on my bianchi, and it's starting to show signs of needing adjustment (which is my lazy ass not taking to Aaron's), but the real shitstain on Sora is unless you have 5 inch thumbs, you can't shift from the drops. Whoever designed that thumb lever ought to be slapped upside the face with a 2x4.
