This thread is to post technology, pictures and information related to the construction and upkeep of Music Bikes

I searched for a thread like this and didn't see one. First reply will be a link to the a super obvious thread that should have bitten me in the face.

********

Check out this app called AmpMe. This could synchronize any number of music bikes into a rolling cacophony.

Speaking of technology...

When are we gonna get support on this here forum for modern, embeddable content? Allowing IFRAMEs is dangerous, but modern forum platforms have support for embedding HTML5 video... it's a pain in the ass to go dig out the documentation from W3Schools on how to embed a YouTube video with the object tag, even if I have it bookmarked (and sync my bookmarks across my devices).

Can we just make the <video> tag an allowed HTML tag?

as long as the audio controls are compatible with this;

(also Ian, I'm super loving the new controller, good work.)

Best method I've seen to sync music is to pre-distribute a single long mp3 track and press play at the same time.

I have a simple four step music bike:

* Bike Rack
* Crate TX15
* Mini to RCA cable
* Phone/pocket computer

Once it started raining, but I just shoved it all in a garbage bag and kept rolling.

I've never had any problems with the sound cutting out. It's loud enough. The greater challenge is judicious usage.

On a similar vent, when I was working at my old job, they let me have about, oh, 40 or 60 wireless FM transmitter/receiver units, which had about a 1000 foot broadcast range. I did test out with a couple, and did see that it was possible to sync up the receivers to the same frequency, and the transmitter was built to accept a 3.5mm audio plug w/ mono audio input. However, the receiver units were designed to be hard-wired into a vehicle, which meant that each one would need a 12V batter to drive it and a speaker (not included, but up to 5W).

But, woulda worked.

I ended up selling the TX/RX kits for about $150 a pop on Ebay.

Were bluetooth standards able to allow multiple devices to sync simutaneously, that would be ideal, really.

I did see that there are some arduino projects for using streaming music through a mesh 802.11 network too.

I'm going to download some audio inversion software and use your broadcast signal to silence all the music by broadcasting it out of phase.

Lies. Obviously we need four people playing Rio, Bon Jovi, ironic electro house, and clownstep. All the time. of course.

Whole House FM Transmitter

I have the 2.0 model

150 Foot Range

Broadcast 150 feet in all directions in rich, static-free audio. The Whole House FM Transmitter 3.0 reaches every corner of your house, yard, garage, office space and car.

Adjustable Antenna

The new 6.5″ swivel SMA antenna makes adjusting the angle and rotation easy, plus it’s reverse threaded and can be unscrewed for better storage. It’s sturdier too!

Audio & Mic Volume

Now you can use a microphone at the same time as any audio source, plus you can easily adjust the volume of each separately. Perfect for karaoke, tour guides, or translation.

Four Power Methods

With the USB power cord and free power adapters included in every box, you can power up with any AC wall outlet, 12/24V auto port, USB port, or “AA” batteries.

Durable Case

The all new sleek design is cast from a stronger plastic polymer to help safeguard against accidental drops, and is held together by stronger screw fasteners.

TX is just 1/2 the problem. Or, really, 1/100th the problem. Unfortuantely, smartphones don't typically have FM RX capability.

Constant music bikes are one of my least favorite changes in .83 riding in the last five years...

THIS.

Nobody wants to hear tinny sounding macklebutt. Also, the new msuazk beik is far too slow. What is this critical slow?

I'm calling beef with myself for breaking the seal on that and starting an arms race. I still like riding to a beat, but I try to be more respectful & stick only to the classic hits of the late seventies including and limited to Thin Lizzy.

number music bikes ≠ n + 1
