After much thought, I've decided to cancel all further trials of my innovative sword-based breaking system. While the system is highly effective, it would appear that the stopping power is much stronger than anticipated resulting in a braking action that is a little too fast for the average rider to properly react to. The response time is sudden enough that the subsequent risk of injury to that rider is unacceptably high. Perhaps with this will improve in the future as promising light saber technologies continue to be refined. Until then, this project is CANCELLED.

Don't give up! Maybe start a kickstarter. Get some funding.

It is kind of on par with other braking systems on kickstarter
