My Shimano Deore Hubs are creaking (I think, it could be anything for all i know). Under load a creaking when peddling. I just changed out my bottom bracket, so i don't think that is the problem. I'm thinking it might be the hubs, I've not serviced the hubs since I bought the wheel set. How often should I be servicing them, they aren't sealed hubs, so I know they will need to be eventually serviced.

if you've already don e the bb, check your chainring bolts. If that's not it, you might have worn out any number of bits in your rear hub or derailleur. Also go over your bike with a close eye looking for cracks in the frame.

Take it to your LBS and save yourself the whack-a-mole headache.

i'm looking to replace my bike in the new year, I can ride it a bit creaky for a while. But I do think that I'll check and the chain ring bolts, stem and hub bearings just to be sure and teach myself a bit of mechanicing

Have you deduced it to a pedaling only noise or is it periodic with the rear wheel spinning freely? Does bouncing do anything? Does it happen while sitting & standing while pedaling?
I once discovered creaking noise emanating from my saddle after fully checking drivetrain and being puzzled, was so frustrated I didn't notice it was correlated to the sitting position when the weight was transitioning from butt cheek to butt cheek.

I also had a creaking noise coming from my saddle for weeks. Turns out I installed the bolts wrong. Back Alley Ben pointed it out to me one day and laughed at me. Seriously, if there's a part on a bike that can be installed wrong, I'll do it at least once.

Good call, I replaced my saddle over the summer, probably did it poorly, I'll pull the seat post out and tighen it up.

I hope this isn't the cause, I just recently pulled my derailluer pulleys out, degreased and regreased them. I hope i didn't do my harm than good with my limited knowledge base.

The saddle should be an easy check, just stand to pedal

I got a creaking noise because I had broken my TTT stem, so if you have a threaded headset, check your step to make sure there's no stress fracture below the top of the fork headset.

rear wheel bearings don't really creak

occasionally a fucked freehub body can make noise

but a less-than-tight rear quick release will creak louder than a cracked frame

Add to list:
Two spokes rubbing against each other.
Creak at the spoke nipple/eyelet/rim interface.
