Hey Guys,
Got a puncture flat from a piece of glass on last nights ride. Pried out the shard, but there is a slit in the belt now. Normally, I would just replace the tire/tube and call it a day. But these are new tires with less than 200 miles on them. Would it be safe to just throw a new tube in there?
Also, dumb me for not bringing an extra tube(had an extra, but the wrong stem length) and being out of patch sealant.

I agree with this in a pinch otherwise I prefer either a piece of tyvek or quality duct tape.
If it was me I would probably replace the tire but I feel your pain here.

I think you mean the sidewall is sliced? Never tried this but looks worth a shot:
I think the only improvement I would make is using braided fishing line to stitch (ultra durable)

Side wall is fine, the slit is in the damn center of the tread. I pulled a popcorn kernel size shard of glass out.
It did not take a chunk out of the tire, only cut it. Tube only got a pin hole in it.
I'll try the duct tape on the inside.

My colors weren't delivered yesterday. Damn Oregon based clothing companies sent the wrong size.

I've patched a punctured tube and then put it back in so that the patch is aligned with the hole before. Worked pretty well for the time I used it.

You can also close up the hole in the tire with a bit of superglue applied from the outside

I rubber cemented a tire patch over the slit, seems to be running safe the last 3 days
