Has anyone had to replace their top "compression" strap on their SiDis? The bit that looks like this:

Apparently they come in two flavors, pre/post 2011. I have no idea what year my shoes are, and the photos look identical, can anyone throw me a bone?

my pair has one broken strap too, definitely pre-2011

I should see if I still have them and what the strap looks like

I believe I have both on two different pair of shoes. Took some measurements and comparisons:

Pre-2011 (Sidi Dominators I own are for sure pre-2011)
Compression strap toothed part is 18.5mm wide.
Buckle strap has teeth that are full width across the strap.
Buckle red release button is 2-piece.

(note numbers and hash marks are embossed)

Post-2011 (Sidi Dominators I bought used, not positive of year but essentially new shape)
Compression strap toothed part is 15.5mm wide.
Buckle strap has teeth that are not full width, just down the center.
Buckle red releaes button is one-piece.

(your pic -numbers and hash marks are debossed)

Your pic does not show the buckle-side toothed strap, because it is removable. I confirmed that they are interchangeable. So you need the compression strap that matches your shoe, and the buckle part of the strap to match your buckle.

What I don't know is if some shoes were made with various combinations of compression strap width + buckle type over the years.

holy holy thats good info. embossing tells me pre-2011, strap width confirms.

Just out of curiosity, should I need to replace my buckles at some point... which do you prefer? I've read that buckles are interchangeable (assuming you swap straps too).

Not sure, haven't really ridden the newer shoes. Got a good deal on them, but are too big for me once tried to ride with them. Will post in for sale thread at some point, I believe they are 46s.

Im interested in those. Are they the "mega" wide or regular? Im usually a 45 or so. IIRC I have some 47 dominators that are a little too big once they mostly broke in.
