Remember the garage sale we used to do every year at Lee's place? We should do that again soon. Round up all your spare parts you're looking to get rid of and bring them over to sell in our yard. We'll fire up the grill to BBQ and have beer and consumables. Maybe set up a couple bike stands if folks want to do some wrenching, etc. We could host at our place in Eastlake if there's any interest. It's kind of like a point83 bike swap, but without the entry fees and more beer and BBQ.

I like it. Any chance we could make use of all this daylight and do it on a weekday or Sunday evening? Potluck contributions suggested.

Capital idea! I suspect your timing should depend on the intended audience. If this is a members only thing weekend/weekday eve is probably fine. If you want to get more of the general public you should probably conform to traditional yard sale time, too damn early to mid aftternoon on a weekend.
Ill also offer up my place in greenlake for host site, if needed. Have big ol driveway plus garage and yard space.

My 2cents of opinion is that this is way better to "keep it in the family" and not be a general public thing.

I support this idea. However, living on a bit of a hill, my place may not be ideal.

I like this idea. A lot.
IMO as a guy with lots to sell and looking to make some cash, I'd rather it be yard sale style open to the public and at Donovan's near Greenlake.
But happy to also do members+friends, weekday evening, other locations.
Ryan thanks for bringing up the idea.

I'm in, have things to sell and/or give away.
First/second weekend of june would be nice...but not on the day to interfere with Girls of Summer.

there *is* ample parking out front, and I'm, pretty sure my neighbor will end up buying half the stuff anyway.

this sounds excellent.

What if it was the morning of GoS? Registration doesn't open til 2p. That way a) folks are around, b) GoS riders can get in on it, c) its a saturday morning so the normal yard sale people will be out.
also please stop pressuring joe into hosting. just because he has ample parking and a neighbor who will make us all rich doesn't mean he owes us anything. its not fair of us to treat him like that.

not trying to mutiny (i'm working a checkpoint), but you could just drop off parts before the race? or pick them up after? unless you're planning on buying a shop stand or something, this seems easy... am i missing something?

how about we don't do the morning of GoS? You've got 2 women putting on the race who might want to do this thing who will be working their asses off the day of the race.
Also agree w Marley. I got shit I would like to get rid of for cash instead of my usual be too lazy and take it all to Bikery.
PLUS we always ask the volunteer to come by at 1:30 to pick up shit before the racers arrive.

pick a date and we will come, as long as it is not race day.

I'm looking at you Sunday, 6/4. That's the weekend before the race, and as we all know weekends are starting to fill up pretty quick.

Sup friends, I am really looking forward to you guys coming over for this. should be rad. Our house is itty bitty and the yard is a little slanted so be warned. Dogs and kids also always welcome.

I might show up with some Brooks saddles and other goodies.

Are we still on for Sunday?
Is there a FB event with more details?
.83 friends and family only?

Yes.
Yes, feel free to invite folks or send me a PM if you haven't recieved any info
That's up to you all, though friends and family seems like the safest of options. No one wants their weird campy delta brakes walking away in some theive's pocket.
We'll have the grill/smoker going and coolers for bevies. I'll have some tools and a bike stand or two to do some minor wrenching if anyone wants. A pop-up shade thing woud be ideal, if anyone has one to loan. (ahem Jerf, ahem Derrick)
