ACAB chit-chat.
I was in holding once, Houston PD, and the officers started kicking the shit out of a Hispanic dude because he would only respond with "What?" in Spanish when they told him to "stand up and approach the window" in English. I calmly spoke up in customer service voice and explained that he's saying that he doesn't understand what's going and he doesn't speak English, this paused kicking-the-crumpled-and-crying-immigrant-on-the-floor time just enough for me to segue into translation services, bringing the battered dude into sufficient compliance for the administrative staff.

I had previously established rapport with the guy by giving him the "put your knees up" pro-tip during transport to mitigate HPD's reputation for slamming on the brakes at an intersection for the purposes of slamming "passenger" faces against the cruiser's glass separator panel.

While I'm bashing on HPD: worst food ever, though they did, at the very least, have orange-drank.

I hate both of your experiences.

I don't know that acronym but what I'm trying to explain is they did nothing but escalate my mood because they found money I owed. This time unlike another time when I was begging for pain relief and was thrown around. What I'm trying to explain is that basic things like the ability to request , or your guaranteed phone call are systematically rejected and treated as privilege not rights. The very fact I was so certain things were over for me want because I did anything serious it's because such minor things are escalated by them to communicate to me even minor things deem taking ask my resources away when when compliant. There is a disconnect if you need psychiatric care and not fear of brutality and pain. For pounding on the cell after multiple ignorance's of my request for my phone call they started bringing out the Tasers to deal with me in a solitary cell telling them they are at fault for not having thier systems fixed for years. Once you are on the hands of the holding police they govern ask that is seen or heard and nothing is there to help. Threat of detainment is much more serious than it seems.

It stands for "All Cops Are Bastards" and is a popular acronym among those who believe that the entire institution of Law Enforcement as we have it today is fundamentally flawed in a way that cannot be fixed by having "good cops".

That freshly paved trail we were riding along on the edge of Des Moines Memorial Drive is apparently part of a bigger project called the Lake to Sound Trail. Des Moines Creek trail down to the beach is also included under the larger umbrella name. http://www.kingcounty.gov/services/parks-recreation/parks/trails/regional-trails/popular-trails/lake-to-sound.aspx

true, saw lots of boarded over empty houses, empty lots choked with blackberries, etc. The backside of the airport is still pretty far flung and slow to get to, but hey we used to say that about Ballard too.

Homes there were still affordable last night, but since then the median price has gone up 300k. Time to find the next up and coming neighborhood.

I'm Andrew, you may remember me from such solstice rides as Issaquah, the ride that coined the term 'Goss Stop/Filter'.

It's the longest ride of the year, lets put on some miles! I suggest Saint Edward state park. The last time I went there with .83 a guy in mascara offered me his homemade absinthe.

We ride in 23!

yeah goddamn that was a hell of a ride

idk how we didn't kick john out immediately after that gutter water
