We'll be meeting for coffee at Haller Park at 8:00 AM and rolling out at 8:30 AM. The ride starts in the heart of the Stillaguamish Valley, at the confluence of the north and south forks of the Stillaguamish River in Arlington. The route follows the north fork to its tributaries before taking a dramatic cut through the North Cascades on the Mountain Loop Highway (a National Forest Service Scenic Byway), to the tributaries of the south fork, and then follows the south fork back to the confluence. We'll have a beer and meal waiting for you at an after-party at The Mirkwood Public House.
The route is 96 miles with 4300 feet of elevation gained. The grade stays mostly within +/-5%, with < 10% max.
Anyone into going up to Arlington early on Sunday for this?

It does look fun but that $40 registration seems a bit steep. Are you going for it?

We'll be camping somewhere up along the river with a big red Dodge truck & camper. I'm hoping for one of the sites that hug the river up on the gravel section of the road north of Barlow Pass.
I'll wave my beer at you as you go by, I don't see you wanting to stop and drink a cold one on such an adventure.

agree on reg cost, but if they're going to provide coffee, beer, and food at the finish it's not too terrible.
I've never ridden the loop before and Angela can always go meet up with the Langstons and/or go fishing on the river while she waits for us to finish.

Definitely interested in riding the route on Sunday, but without registration/support. Pretty sure I can buy a meal at the pub for less than $40.

It's a very nice loop, better if you include the Rat Trap Pass/ Suiattle Road extra leg. Angela is definitely welcome to come hang out, we're shooting for Bedal campground but we are trying for one of the first-come/first serve sites and there is 0 cell phone service past Darrington from either side

I really can't justify $40 - if it was $20 I'd be tempted.
I'd love to go but yea, $$. Interest in pirating though ;)
The grindcore route looks much nicer in terms of elevation and driving - how uncool would it be to pirate I wonder
Edit: and, if one were to consider paying the registration fee - how cool are these people? If they're rad I'd mind less about giving them $$

They're really nice people
all their previous rides have been free and rad
this one is more formal and roadie friendly, they're trying to figure out how to make it a sustainable thing that attracts people they aren't already friends with

$40 just seems like a way high price point, SIR has snackies at the manned stop(s), I think that 200k was $10?
Eh, idk.

Do any of the vehicles going to this have room for one more?
