EDIT: disregard this; skip down to my next post
---------------------------------------------

Soo Erika and I are gonna ride this or some variety of it (or some kinda somethin), this coming Sunday-Tuesday:
https://goo.gl/maps/tEhfhcHBekq

Pretty sure at least a few of you have ridden the mountain portion of this route, so, a few questions:

1. Should we expect the route from Howard Hanson Dam to Lake Kecheelus to have much car/truck traffic on a weekday?
2. Where does the gravel start? Probably somewhere around Howard Hanson?
3. Probably no grocery store/minimart from Ravensdale to North Bend right? ... well except for Snoqualmie Pass.
4. Any good camping recommendations, near Lester? (Second night would be Alice Creek or thereabouts on the IHT.)

Thx in advance.

Also: short notice but if you can get the time off, come join us!
... again, not fully decided on this route yet, but we're gonna do some kind of roughly 150-190 mile loop over those three dates.

Give up now

That's super illegal and you're absolutely guaranteed to get caught, trespassing in Tacoma's watershed.

You can't go up the river from Landsburg to Cedar Falls either, that's Seattle's watershed.

If you want to visit Lester, this route is legitimate: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/15797083

You have to leave your bikes at the eastern gate to walk into town though, and not go further west past the townsite. They're pretty serious about it.

This route from Greenwater is also legal: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/10599182

I've ridden through there a couple other sillier ways too, those two are the simplest and easiest and least likely to result in beef with the Department of Homeland Security.

Wat?

Coulda sworn I'd read about that loop or something very close to it being very rideable/legal.

Well, OK how 'bout this ... recommendations for a roughly 160-200 mile loop, into and out of the Cascades, starting/finishing in Seattle?
Hopefully but not necessarily including Ironhorse/Johnwayne trail to Snoq Pass... and hopefully *not* including any car/bus/train assist.

Fuggit, maybe we'll just ride out the IHT/Johnwayne, and in the middle day just ride as far east as we feel like... but was kinda hoping for a loop...

You could ride the JWT to Cle Elum, jump over into the Teanaway, do Old Blewitt to Leavenworth, grind over Stevens Pass and then fly downhill to Everett/Monroe and hop transit home. Might be a bit more mileage than you were expected but you could stage in North Bend to cut out mileage you've done before.

Personally a bus shortcut to auburn/marysville/snoqualamie is a nice way to cut out unenjoyable slog.

Personally doing that greenwater nachez (?) easton ironhorse route looks good to me.

When I rode that way through Greenwater with Ben and Denny, we started by taking the Sounder to Auburn after work on a Friday

(it takes you much closer to Green Pass than to Naches)
