The best thing I witnessed while standing in that eternal line for the self-check last night was a senile old man who cut the entire line, set his basket of mostly unscannable produce on one of the non-working self-check stands and started taking his fruits & vegetables out of their bags and trying to scan them. When the self-check cashier explained that the stand he was using was out of service and that he needed to wait in line, the man demanded to be rung up and when the cashier denied him, stormed out of the store. I can't wait to get old...
