Hey, c'mon out for the Seattle International Randonneurs annual Winter Solstice Ride on the longest night of the year. This year our 100k starts and ends at the Denny's in Renton off 405. Bikes should have front and rear lights that'll last all night, and reflective ankle bands and vests are also required.
Cookies at the start, hot drinks along the way, and lots of darkness.

See details and sign up here:

I would consider doing this but I don't own reflective shit and there's no way I'm paying money for it.

Are you tough? Get at me. Everyone is cancelling because I guess December is a somewhat chilly month.

I’m seeing a wet-ish afternoon and temps in the high 20’s tonight at 300ft elevations along the route. Not much flexibility to take areas with ice slower given the fact that the checkpoints are timed.

I’m saving my reflective blood and Garmin sun shadow board for a time when we can properly sacrifice a goat before hand.

I only went 15 miles of the ride the night before and to downtown Bellevue Transit Center. I made it that far and am proud but was sore until Christmas Eve. Also I could not sleep the whole night after that ride adrenaline galore. Then had to push to stay up all day Fri as well to pack and make sure my sleep patterns matched the time my bus left to see family Saturday. Doesn't look like anyone went that I know but Happy Solstice anyways.
