In honor of Sanfermines, this is the time of year when we join in fellowship with our brethren from Pamplona, Spain through the emulation of the their running of the bulls, except it's Seattle, so, you know but with bikes. We dress up in white, rides bikes away from bulls on bikes and partake of shenanigans involving: red wine, red wine related products, substances somehow tangentially associated with red wine, and/or liquids obliquely referencing red wine.
Don't forget to dress up in white and bring red wine.
dig out your reds and whites (maybe rinse em off or something)
grab your boxwine
post your costumes

Listen jackasses
I say this every year. I'll say it this year too.
Bulls ride is supposed to be
1. Last minute
2. The first Thursday over 80 degrees, in July.
That is the whole point.
This should be postponed until those conditions are met. Queue up your outfits, and wait for the right conditions.

Ten years ago, Derrick had an itch to use his Ronald McFondle costume on a ride, and so on a Sunday he posted thursday july 16th, anyone up for a no reason COSTUME ride?. Pretty soon (the next day, Monday), Joeball had the brilliant idea to emulate the running of the bulls.
It wasn't quite last minute (we did have a few days to raid Value Village (RIP) and Goodwill for whites and reds), but it was good. It was a truly amazing night. It was not cool out. We liquor stored on 12th, we volunteered at the park, we got our asses handed to us by the mechanical bull operator at Cowgirls Inc., and we karaoked at Goldie's or Bogarts or whatever it was called at the time.
Since then, there have been some great years and some meh years. The good years have involved heat and swimming and lots of fun people on a lovely summer evening. One year I got bitten by a dog and got to go the ER. Last year's was exceptionally banal, and this evening promises to be cool and possibly drizzly.
I'm curious what the turnout will be like tonight. I'm with Scott here, in that there's something to be said for doing things when "it's a really good idea" and not when "the calendar says we should do this now".
But I'll still come out tonight, and I'll even bring my whites and reds. Washed exactly twice in the past 10 years!

Also, one of my favorite interactions of all time (paraphrased):
Cowgirls Inc. bouncer: there's a $5 cover per person
.83: I guess we'll take our 40 person party (who will have 1-2 drinks each and be gone in 45 minutes) elsewhere...
bouncer: ......
bouncer: ok, come on in

Also, I'm torn between prefunking at SLU, or prefunking at the triple rock park

Next Thurs. looks better but it still won't be above 80.
A "Slip n Sliding of the Bulls" where we also burn Christmas trees and make waffles sounds ideal.

Hey everyone, Aaron made a good joke and I legitimately laughed at it.
The next time I'm about to say something sorta cruel and out of character to or about him, I'm just gonna not say it.
Keep up the good work buddy
