a similar route nearly killed Fred and Dravus (and Ben?) so this is guaranteed to be a terrible decision.
isn't this the route that had them sleeping under a roadside sign for shelter, using hand dryers to warm up, bushwhacking to get back on-route, and Ben having to be extracted via car?
I'm not saying no to this, but I'm sure as heck not saying yes either...
the bushwhacking looked very much type 2.
(also might want to check the snow levels before going up there)

i picked them all up in a truck! they were a few miles away from camp but pretty much wrecked. also the 2 lane 70mph highway with oncoming passing drunk pickup bros wasn't helping their moods.

Nah that was in 2013 further south with Paul and Ben
The 2014 one Ben melted and was picked up by pregnant Laura in Skokomish, and I continued with Dravus all the way to the end arriving at sunset Saturday: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/4297247
If you want to retry crossing the tree farm west of 101, definitely have offline satellite maps and bushwack straight through the forest at the dead end rather than cutting north through the marsh. There was also a rotting wooden bridge at the beginning near 101 that might be gone now.

The outbound leg of the SIR Spring 400k looks promising.

Noted, thank you. I will hoard offline imagery if I attempt. Is this your swamp?
I also mapped out another possibility on rd 6000, all based on aerial photos from... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
