My guess is something like magnesium studs in the tire or something. And I'll admit, I did Nazi the hitler themed bike as being a thing in Arabia.

Remember that time we smoked 10 joints on that horrible/awesome Ben Country and everyone behind us (so, pretty much everyone) said they'd been smelling weed for hours/miles?
That was pretty cool. Cheers buddy.

Plausible, fully patched as of yesterday, school has been rough and unsure if I can afford a weekend of poor decisions before the middle of June.

started in on this a couple of days ago.
having been sitting in the garage and not been ridden in over 12 months, the camping bike needs a bunch of things done to it.
tires:
had gone flat. probably a bunch of dried sealant inside. pulled the tubeless valve cores out, poured a 2 oz. bottle of Stans in each, then re-seated the beads with a floor pump and let them weep a bit of sealant while sitting overnight. good to roll.
brakes:
hydraulic pistons had seized closed. pulled the wheels back off the bike, pulled the pads out and backed the pistons out with a flathead screwdriver. re-installed the wheels and pumped the brakes to re-center the pistons. good to stop.
handlebars:
never cared much for the stock handlebars, swapped them out for a set of Shimano PRO PLT bars from my parts bin. unwrapped all the dirty bar tape that was still on them from SSCXWCPDX '16. ordered new bar wrap. will finish reinstalling the levers after the tape arrives. will need to reinstall the handlebar bag mount as well.
still to do:
- clean and relube drivetrain. wiped some surface rust off the chain and sprayed it with a bit of silicon spray to loosen it up. a deep-clean will follow later. may pull the crank off and clean up the old grease on the spindle.
- fix front derailleur. cable is stretched and indexing needs adjustment.
- pull camping gear (sleeping pad, water filter, etc.) out from closet and make sure it's clean and aired out.

oh no, to be more clear - I've been riding, although much lower volume (and a bunch of time on Zwift).
haven't done any commuting or overnights, which was the primary purpose for this one specific bike, so it sat untouched in the garage for the longest time. the other bikes in the fleet have been getting regular maintenance.

For $1000 I will prepare a custom PowerPoint story. My PowerPoint audience includes a wide demographic assortment of Russian bots and high school acquaintances who probably have me muted but still technically follow me. I have a very low engagement rate probably because my posts are sort of all over the place, ranging from serious political bullshit, to only-sort-of-funny observations about steely dan, to thinly veiled cries for help. I have no real ethics or aspirations, but I love money and I'd love to help you further blur the line between journalism and advertising as we mash people's recreational pursuits into the endless consumption hell of capitalism.

2nd blast into the arm yesterday, now I'm leaning towards riding. I mean, I've put on 100 miles since this time last year, so I should be able to do 50, right?
UPDATE: nope, I'm driving. that back half elevation looks pretty rough for my raspberry jam legs.

Have you considered repacking your hubs and bottom brackets. Might as well do a full Joe and perform a complete disassembly and reassembly.

with enough practice you can learn to retension your brake cables while riding. I've gotten to the point where I do it almost every time I need to slow down.

That reminds me, Edmund. Does your unicycle have a brake? I must have seen you bring it to dozens and dozens of rides over the past few years, but I just can't recall if it does or not...
