Remember, you need to have a teammate who has good biking skills, and who you work well with. So choose wisely.
Just to give you a taste of what to expect at the race I'll give you a brief description of the first event:
1st Event: Shotglass Barrel Racing
Two teams will compete at a time. Teammembers will race on bike one at a time down a straight course, around a barrel at the end and back. When they cross the start/finish line they will tag off to their teammate who will then race down and back (relay style). Each team will go down and back a total of 4 times (twice per person). The winning team will progress to the second event.
So what's the catch? Each teammember must take two of 4 shots lined up on the start/finish line before they're allowed to leave. So when the race is started Teammate 1 will do their first shot and then race down and back. Teammate 2 must wait until teammate 1 crosses the line, then they take their first shot and race down and back. Then Repeat.
And that's just the first event.
I'm still deciding if I'll unveil the 2nd event. The third will definately remain a mystery until the very end.

Dammit! I really wanna do this, but I'm pretty sure I'm not the best teammate for this.

Are you a teammate of your own?
Sometimes "6 foot 20" seems like two people, doesn't it?

Is there going to be any sort of sign up or do you just show up with a partner at your heels. Also, where is this 1900 West Nickerson?

My reccomendation would be to definately have a partner there with you. It's essential to pair up with the person you think will compliment your own skills (or balance them out) and totally necessary for coordinating the best style possible too. This race is all about having fun, but you've got to have a strategy.
However, if you want to wing it and show up without a teammate then that's your call. It might work out for you, it might not, but I certainly wont hold that against you. If it doesn't then we always welcome spectators, especially on a secure course like this one where it's easier to see most of the racing action.
Maybe try to take advantage of Thursday's ride to secure a partner.

I hate to say the same thing every time, but:
Is there going to be a group riding to the race from the u-district? If there's not, there should be.
Burke to fremont bridge sounds easy enough, but leave it to me to get lost.

I'm probably going. I live in fremont so i could meet ya'll by the bridge, or in the udistrict.
Are we going to be racing in a single location (where I could set down a bag during the race) or do I need to race with everything I bring on my bike?
Yeah, "closed course" should definately be put in quotes. But i will tell you that you'll be able to watch all of the racing action from a single location. Which means, yes you can leave your bag in a safe spot.
