You all have a totally average time, OK? I can't come, and I'll be totally pissed off if tonight ends up being one of the *Historic* rides.

why doesn't she just ride with him? (nevermind..I forgot they had kids)\
I'd go on band practice with Jim but I can't play anything but a violin and I don't even know if I can play that still...I do have a horrible singing voice so that should work for a punk band.

Awesome ride tonight. Finally, I get to go on a thursday ride... It's too bad I couldn't find you guys on the beach. I went straight to the actual park, but everyone blew past the turn after me. I got some good hill repeats in trying to find you guys, and then racing at threshold to catch up with the other group going back to Seattle.
Henry and Paul, thanks for the directions to the trail. It's a creepy ride that late next to all the trains, but it was fun.
I love bikes. Being able to go anywhere on my own accord, with my own energy, and get stronger for it, just rules. And riding with good people is great. I've found that most cyclists that really ride are cool people. I'm going to shut up now and let sleep take over this cycling high I've got. See you next week.

Was a damned kickass ride. I split up and caught the bus that was sitting there forever. On the climb i got off after the first three blocks. Just was too tired, already had ridden quite a bit earlier in the day, but oh well. When I rode back down the hill the other new guy (who had a flat on the bridge) was having some heart problems. I stayed with him so he caught a cab. Guess it was a good thing I didn't go up, cause he didn't have a cell phone and couldnt ride anymore. Hopefully see you guy's next week.

wow, i hope sam is okay. we didn't see either of you but we figured you were together and you guys would figure it out. the hill wasn't actually all that bad, all things considered. then we bombed down aurora and went to the duck for some delicous beers. i love the duck island! also, krispy kreme dumpster donuts are not for the win. talk about gutbomb.
derrick you asshat, where were you? none of us were rebellious enough to light a beach fire so we just shivered until it was time to go.
next week: french toast and pints of wine in bellevue!

also, post-ride bike joust in the u-village parking lot with those yellow umbrellas can be a bad idea if you've had too much bourbon to avoid the curbs, whoops

Yeah, I think he'll be ok, he just had to lay down. He has some heart problems as it is, and as soon as he stood up after the flat they started to act up again. Sounds like a good end to a ride, also. Just after the Fremont climb and then the Shoreline/whereever climb, I was done wtith hills.

Excellent ride last night. We very much so packed on the miles!
You know it’s so amazing. I'm seeing parts of the city that I never would have seen because I'm riding with you guys. Now if I just could spell neighbors.

I had a great time last night! I had done a lot of work out there as the mailman and then later building cell phone towers but never had the chance to do any riding. There are some great views, great hill climbs and Owls in the woods!
Thanks again for doing this ride, the route was kind of beastly hill-wise but I didn't really think it was all that bad. I wanted to go back through Innis Arden and all that area even though it is hilly because it was "new" territory for just about everyone. Despite the confusion at the end with trying to find the beach/bar I think everyone had a good time.
Sam- I'm glad you didn't die of a heart attack. I was worried about leaving you and kept the group waiting as long as possible.
Henry- How'd you get home at 4am? That's ridiculous.

Yeah, we should do this ride in a month or two when it's warm and bright!
And then, eventually, we should do a peninsula / bainbridge ride. Ferry boats are fun. Maybe on a saturday or sunday... with a big clan of people.

it wasnt all that bad, I am sore today, but not half as sore as I expected to be. And even though I wanted to get off and walk at one point, I was ok after I remembered I could just shift those gear things on my bike.
That sushi was badd.

Also, thanks for the bagels. I didn't get a chance to grab food before the ride and my blood sugar was trashed [1], so they were a life saver.

Mostly, I just feel a little shady this morning. I rode into work and have been stuck in phone meetings for the past two hours. I'm about to stagger over to the shower now.
[1] Yeah, hypoglycemia. Stupidity on my part really, I know better.

Had I known there were going to be so many retarded hills, I probably wouldn't have came out, haha. Neither me nor my bike are really set up for hills right now.. once I have a 49t in my possession, I'll be down for anything (I'll probably still bitch a lot though), but fuck those fucking shit ass hills with my current set up.
Over all, it was a fun night. So glad we decided not to go down to the beach and freeze our asses off like you suckers.. we had a lovely rice back to Ballard where Henry got into a fist fight with a little old lady (we would have stopped him, but she totally kicked his ass) and then I went home while the rest of our group went to the Boxcar.
