someone more qualified thn me should have written in by now. in a cople of weeks, i should know and i'd be happy to teach you whatever i'm taught, but i won't have any equiptment...
what the hell's wrong with everyone? i've never seen this crowd NOT spring to help a fellow bike nerd.
and stephen, i'm ready to pick up my shirt. i hope it still smells like backpacking in utah in the armpits or i'm gonna be pissed.

haha, I dont know what it smells like anymore, probally more like bonfire in the armpits but we will see. I have today off, so any time you want it.

I'm going to be working on a wheel and other bike stuff tomorrow afternoon if you want to rendezvous to get some progress done.
I'm thinking that I'll get it mostly done and then take it Colin/Wayward for QC by someone who knows what they're doing more than me.

Charles at Wright Bros offers an excellent wheel building class that many of us have taken. His next class starts this Sunday. Give him a call to see if there's still room.

What is up with Charl's crazy spoke lacing method?
Also, I have not written here yet, because I told Stephen to post here for help. I sold him the rims and spokes.
Building a wheel is not difficult but it does take practice to be good. It is good to have a pro look your wheels over after you finish.

Well I live in the UDistrict. My plan is to leave my house around 10, catch Aaron's shop as it opens to buy the spokes and brake cable I need and then bust ass getting stuff fixed up. I have plans at 5, so if you'd like we can get together 'bout noon thirtyish?

haha no thanks to any of you I finished putting together the front wheel, literature wasn't helping so I just elimidated with my brain! uh....ok, now it needs some serious truing. and the rear wheel also needs to be build I GUESSSSSSS three cross?! SHIT that shit sounds even worse than the two cross, but ok, I am about to give it a go.

but we were both dumb, oh and from the help I got from the guy at wayard.

uhmm....deduced.
I cant wrap my mind around the three cross aaron, I figured out basically that I had the spokes screwed in too far is why they would make the lengths, but on the rear wheel I left them all really loose to give myself room to work and they wont cross three and make it to the hole, anything I might be doing wrong?
edit how many things am i doing wrong? I am following the three cross pattern on my other wheel so I know the framework pattern isnt wrong.

yeah, I was out late schmoozing with the ConWorks people and slept in. I'm torn about what to do; be the responsible guy (ha!) and take the bus out there after work for the spokes and to borrow a book on wheel building or to go see Mudhoney and ride. I finallyfound a FSA wrench, at performance.
Weather will make my decision; if it's shitty out when I get off work I'll bus out there. I'm hoping to have it done enough to be ready to true for monday's .83 shop-night.
