i'm looking at a new cassette that would be both compatible with this mystery shimano hub kevin is giving me and be more conducive to the sprint series.
yes i want to put them on Beta. i currently run Beta's steel body on six gears. i'm wondering if stretching her to 8 is too much. also, i've been looking at mountian cogs (11-32T). is that unreasonable. i'm not afraid of riding like a granny... just having to walk my bike and/or throw up.

I seem to recall that 6 != 7=8=9 cassette body. If it's a freewheel, then you are all set and may just need to re-dish. I could also be completely delusional.

long story short, i used to run a 52 in front along with my 42. i never used it for commuting so i took it off. later when i put on a new short bottom bracket, i couldn't fit both chain rings on so it was convienient i only used one. essentially, my spider is an odd size and i'd be looking at buying another bottom bracket because my old one is not integrated and a total hassle. the likelihood of me finding something like a 32 the match my spider size is pretty slim. i spent a good amount of time at recycled before the fhr.

Man, he hasn't spent much time around bikes if he thinks you can measure everything with rulers. Ever see a 27" wheel next to a 29" wheel?

Every time i've had to deal with it the cranks have been stamped with the length (170, 165, etc)
