Beat me to it, i recognize the rocks though, this person sells fairly frequently, typically bikes in this size range so by that very thin reasoning it is probably legit, 400$ is a good deal but still reasonable, not a 100$ on the street corner deal.

If it's legit, that's a pretty sweet ride for that price. You can probably get $200 for just the wheelset.

I think this is the guy I bought a cheap bike from last year, he seems legit. He said he's a former bike industry worker and seemed to have the knowledge to back it up.

700c, steel frame with canti brakes, and a perennially popular frame.

That is a good deal for someone!
One of the first Hybrid/Cross (not cyclocross) bikes made for the masses. The Volpe was the only one in their cross line-up that had drop handlebars. X-1 is excellent quality. The SunTour Command shifters are in high demand by retro-grouches. You could sell the shifters if you didn't like them on ebay for $50 easily.
62cm Bareknuckle frame new in the box for $500. If I had $500 burning a hole in my pocket, I would consider it!
Hmmm... is that a individual seller or is Counterbalance now selling new frames on Craigslist? For the record they frown on that. That's waht ebay is for.

DAMN! Can you imagine the possibilities? This thing has an Ice-cream cooler! We could paint a logo on it, take it out on mass and other rides and it would be our beer cooler with wheels!

Ben on a Rivendell. Am I the only one that did a double-take? Way to keep us guessing Ben, but take it easy, you're scaring me. I just got a saddle with springs, you gonna put one of those on your riv?
