Fuuuuck that is so cool. One size bigger and I'd be all over it to replace my New Belgium cruiser

Technically yes, but this person at least removed the wheels and other parts instead of just rattle canning the whole shebang.

I don't think so. This looks like a custom DIY build. It's a 24-inch Redline BMX cruiser frame. Ben's was a 20".
See DIY chainring welded on:
Still pretty cool.

do you like late 80s japanese steel? cool me too. this looks like a pretty fierce turnkey alley cat machine on a budget.
$200
54cm
tange 1
GPX throughout (indexing aint great and requires matched chain etc, but just run friction->this allows a 26T in back)
36H arayas
you can probably squeeze in smaller 28s w/o fenders.
looks pretty clean

Tarptent Contrail 1 person tent. I believe Donavan has an early version of this. I have the Rainbow and like it a lot. $100 is a great price.

Yup. My Contrail is about a decade old and continues to be awesome. All up its about 2lbs including tents + stakes. Large enough to hold me and a full load of touring panniers. Alternately it can hold two people snug, but comfortable, when needed.
A tarptent is also one of those items Id totally buy used. It's a "one man" shop run by Henry Shires in california and hes *awesome* when it comes to support etc.

Apparently all the Tarptents are sewn in Seattle these days.
I have a friend with a Contrail and his only complaint is water sometimes pooling in the area above the foot-box when not properly pitched with a third pole in the center.

i have a 1 and a 2 man tarptent. love them. mine are both about a decade old too.
i have the same issues with the contrail and the foot box. these tents really require you to stake out for the conditions properly otherwise you might not have the best of times. once you know what you are doing with them, then they really are the best. amazing weight savings. my 1 person tent is tiny i barely even know it's on board

Foot box water in heavy rain is true. Runnin a litle guy line from the tie out works for me. I didnt know production was up here now. Back in 2012 or so I actually visited Henry/tarptent in Nevada City to pick up my scarp 2 man. He had a huge 3-4 car garage convereted in to a complete workshop and warehouse. Spent some time nerding out, and set up a couple models i his back yard to demo.

the 2 man one i have is the squall2 (i think discontinued). it is a little larger in pack size because of the long foot pole, but that pole really really solves the wet foot box problem. gives some nice height to the bottom and properly drains that area better.
Scrap metal, mostly. You'd spend more money in gas hauling it to the dump than any of those Walmart kids bikes are worth. But go crazy, buy the whole lot.

57CM Velo Orange Polyvalent $450. Quite decent parts bin build. Would be a great townie or light touring kind of bike.
Salsa Casseroll 56CM $350. Great relaxed road or "sport touring" bikes. Build is 8 speed Shimano, should be easy to convert to 9 or 10 speed indexed. Double check the sizing & fit, these frames measured small and fit large. And actual 56cm frame fits more like 58-59CM.

Are we too cool for Chrome? Is Chrome too cool for us? Either way, there are a ton of their brand new shoes of various styles, some for cleats, some for not at the SLU goodwill. All are mens 9, which equates to about a 10.

I've yet to try clippies but keep being told they're the bees knees and that size may be right...

i think this might be a find but i need some nerd help
Ross Signature Pro Mt. XXX Prototype $99
So what I know is that Ross Signatures were (at least at the outset) Ross's fancy pants hand built bikes; the earliest ones were designed and built by Tom Kellogg. This is obviously later than that era but I'm thinking it might still be a decent frameset at very least.
Cool that it's a prototype too, but prototype of what? It definitely came out after a lot of the Mt. XXX's. Downtube says (i think) "made exclusively for Ross team riders," but by who? Some clue on the internet i can't find anymore pointed to Waterford.
I can't make out many of the parts. Controltech stem? Marzocchi fork? ????
Anyone got anything?
