Some dude in a shop (do not remember which one) once told me that suntour chain is impossible to find anymore, and that other chain would wear down my components really quickly.

Is this true? If I want to keep the vintage (but nicely maintained) components on my Bianchi 12 speed, what chain should I use and where could I find some?

dude's sounds like an asshat, just use any 6/7/8 speed chain and you should be fine.
dude's especially an asshat if it is friction, and the cogs aren't even ramped.

he used to be a pretty good tuba player too. he played in a bunch of the crappy third tier symphonies around here.

then he started to drink.

when i was homeless (for fun and vacation!) in seattle a few years ago, me and my friend ran into that guy all the time outside of key arena after basketball games

he'll play "girls on film" from duran duran on the tuba.

he talks like 2 words a minute, so you gotta be super patient when you chat with him. he also plays his tuba really really slow as well, so you gotta be patient when you listen.
