Anyone got the stuff to braze (or more to it, unbraze) some small frame features like cable guides, and down tube shifter mounts?
I'm trying to clean up my fixed gear by removing the crap I'll never use.

I already own a few files and know how to use them. I'm just asking to see if anyone has the right tool for the job first.

David Wilson has brazed my frame a couple times. Cheap and quick.

Looking more to wield them myself with a watchful eye over my shoulder. I think I get it, but I want to make sure. Plus, there is that whole color of metal thing going on that I have no experience with.

when i was cleaning my fixed gear frame of all the braze ons that i didnt need i started with a grinding bit on a regular hand drill. it worked, but SUPER slow
then i called colin (haulincolin on the forums here) and used his air compressed grinder. i had them all off and cleaned up in 20 minutes or so. you just gotta be really careful that you dont go overboard and grind right on through the steel tube.
he might have that thing up at wayward cafe now at the bike shop, not sure. id ask him. hes the guy that rolls around with the bright pink helmet

Thanks to all, but my primary interest is brazing. I have access to grinders and such, but I want to try brazing. If anyone knows of someone who wouldn't mind me trying it and offering some advice, that would be great. If not, I'll just keep looking. :)
Thanks

you can call me joby, but i just don't see the fuckin point in limiting the simple functionality of a perfectly good frame for minute aesthetic purposes.

the artsy fartsy are by no means designers; they are popularity perpetuators. they are people who kill design.
on the contrary people like you and i, denny, who can solve a specific problem given specific constraints in the most elegant manner possible are designers.
sorry, i sound like an asshat that argues on the internet.
