So here's the deal. This 20 something guy just bought a really frickin huge house on top of Queen Anne. He had some handymen doing work on the house, and the other day one of the guys brought by this bicycle he found in a pile of junk by the 7-11 down on Denny. So then the guy is on Queen Anne Ave and happens to notice this sign I conviniently left on a sign post up there and thinks to himself, "holy shit, that looks like the bike i now have in my garage." So he gives me a call and we go by and pick it up after work today. The guy was totally cool about it all. He wanted to make sure that the handyman's story jived with a likely scenario to make sure it wasn't the handyman who was the bike thief. We were under the impression that had it appeared the handyman was the bike thief then he would have immediately lost his job. But yeah, we're pretty sure that the handyman had found it outside the 7-11 and that some random person had grabbed the bike because needed a fast way down the hill. Oh and the best part was that THE ONLY THING MISSING from the bike was the spoke cards! The computer, water bottle, and bike lights were all still in tact.
Regardless of all that the guy was super cool and stoked to give us the bike back. Leslie offered him some cash as a thank you and he refused it. Apparently he'd had his bike stolen a long time ago so he totally understood. Anyway I think I'll go back and invite him to a .83 ride.
Oh, and if you guys happen to see one of the numerous posters i put up around town about leslie's stolen bike, please rip it down. I'd hate for her to get tackled off her own bike now that she has it back.

happy ending, good story! Working in a bike shop I hear of many stolen bikes but not many returns. That makes me feel better about humanity!
