Does anyone know how cable ends are attached to brake/der cables in the factory?
It appears that they are cast with some low melting point alloy but what is it attaching to? ...raw cable? ...flared end?
PJ Diddy mention his dad used to make custom ends for cables for use in garage doors.
I'm hoping there is a was to make your own cable ends.

no it would be for the dana 3 speed shifter, unless i figure how to make a new twist unit that could use the Knarps in the shifter and regular derailleur cables in the gear box unit

My grandpa used to cast his own fishing lead weights. He had a tiny foundry for it. Wonder if Denny could do it at the sand pits in the UW machine shop?

I haven't done any casting in a long time, and I'm not interested right now :)

People come into my shop all the time wondering about this. If someone finds a place that will do it, let me know. For now Knarps are the only solution I know of. When someone finds a place that can do it let me know.
