1) How much do you charge to build up a bike from a bare frame/fork?
2) Is there anything different/special about painting a carbon frame? Is it even recommended?
I went to Aaron's site (hey! you spelled "pearl" on your paint page "pear"!) and was thinking a candy or pearl orange paint job would be dandy.

$175-$200 but cannot give an estimate until I see your bike. Fitting and body measurements should be taken into account before you build your bike up.

Ew! Carbon. Disposable frames. Don't waste your sweat. If it needs a paint job perhaps it is time to retire the frame. Carbon does not like the real world. It is very expensive to repaint carbon because of all the manual labor I have heard quotes from $500 to $800.

wrapping it in duct tape would at least disguise that it's made out of plastic - duct tape now comes in an amazing array of colors. Wrapped in duct tape, no one will steel it. You probably wouldn't even need a lock. At least I wouldn't take it because I'd assume it must be some scratched up plastic bike.

Hey - Stop making fun of my plastic bike.
It's not anywhere near needing to be retired - in fact, it looks very newish. It's the Look KG361 that was on Craigslist a few days ago. It doesn't actually need to be painted - I just like orange.
So I got a bunch of parts together to build a bike, and bought this frame. Then I found an orange Salsa Scandium cyclocross frame on Craigslist in Nashville at a great price and ended up buying that too, becuase I'm stupid impulsive like that.
So, no I have two bikes to build.
Which is why I'm selling two of my exisiting bikes.
So, if anbody wants to buy my Schwinn Peloton or Giordana XL-Eco, by all means let me know!
