Did you consider carrying the Rivendell Bleriot as a 650B bike?

I can special order that. Perhaps I should stock one to show. The price is 3 times the Kogswell!
I am going to "retire" my Colnago back into a road bike and get a Kogswell Porteur/Randonneur (Porter/Randoneer aka PR) for My fixie with 650A wheels AND a basket up front for hauling beer for all you motherbitches!

i'm thinking of putting a basket on my cruiser when i transform it back from being the polo bike. i want to get one mounted to the frame though, not the handlebars and fork, like val's bike.

Val has made several of them. I am sure he would not mind doing one for you.

Sorry, my bad. The Bleriot is TWICE the price of the Kogswell PR. But then again you get lugs, but NOT horizontal drop-outs. I will probably stock both.

What's the price of the PR frameset? What colors will it come in? Hopefully something other than the baby blue of the prototype. You gonna be ok riding a welded frame?
This bike kinda interests me because of the short-ish top tube. Seems like it might make a good tourer (http://blogs.phred.org/blogs/alex_wetmore/default.aspx). But how available are tubes/tires/rims in most bike shops?

It is going to sell for somewhere around $600 [Shipping, Frame Prep (alignment, rust proofing, etc) and Fit Kit included]
the bike can take 650A or 650B wheels. 650A (aka: EA3, 590mm BCD, 26 x 1 3/8") tires and tubes are readily available at most LBS and Department stores like K/W Mart.
You ain't gonna get lugs for that price.......yet!

I'll probably have it on Tuesday's XtraCycle ride if anyone wants to check it out in person.
It's a great bike and it's great that Aaron is going to carry them.

Stock color is going to be Kogswell Kustard. I don't know if Aaron is getting a special color (like he did with the P framesets) or if his frames will also be Kustard.
I'm glad they are going with the Kustard over the periwinkle. The periwinkle is okay and unique in my book, but most people either love it or hate it. It's hard to sell bikes in colors that folks hate.

In Seattle both Free Range Cycles and Il Vecchio stock tires and rims in 584mm (650B). I'm guessing that Aaron will be too. Any shop can order them from QBP or J&B or you can mail order them from a number of sources. Few shops carry 622mm (700C) tires in the sizes that I want for touring either, so having to wait for orders wouldn't be a huge deal.
Conti and Schwable 26x1.5" tubes are labelled as working for 584mm and 590mm tires too. If you can't find those I've used standard 26x1.5" tubes a few times with no problems, they are just a little tight going onto the rim.
I'm not sold on 650B, but everything else about this frame is great. It handles front loads really nicely, is priced well and made well, handles nicely loaded or unloaded, and is very adaptable. I have my bike setup with the 40mm trail fork but have ridden all available forks as part of my involvement in the prototyping.
