Looking for recommendations on a bike computer for my touring bike. Don't need cadence or heart rate. Just basic functions like speed, total miles, trip miles etc. Weatherproof. Ability to move between 2 bikes would be nice. Wired is fine, wireless fine too if it's not more of a hassle. Just a simple reliable computer.
Cateye Mity 8? Other suggestions?
Thanks,
Mike

I've heard the Cateye Cordless FR7CLSL Computer is supposed to be durable and hold up to life on the road, but no personal experience with it.
Does anyone know of a cycle computer that has an alarm clock function? It would be nice if I could ditch the alarm clock or watch when touring, since I rarely use them. But I do occasionally need an alarm to make sure I wake up in time to catch the plane, train, ferry, etc.
Thanks,
--Matt

Or the Cat Eye Enduro. Same as the Mity 8, but with a beefer cord. I have one on my fixed gear and like it lots.

If you're going to be switching it between two bikes, then cordless might be a better choice. Undoing the cord and rewrapping it every time would be a pain in the ass, but switching a cordless from bike to bike would be a snap. Do both bikes have the same size wheel? If not you would have to reconfigure the computer each time you switch. Two cheap wired computers might be a better deal than one wireless one. The Cateye Enduro is simple and dependable, but I bet you can find an even cheaper one if you looked hard.

Or better yet, you can just buy an extra mount for < $10. The Enduro has two wheel settings, so you can switch it between bikes easily.
(Also. OMG - I don't check the board for two days - and you guys go start geting arrested and into collisions. WTF?)
