My derailleur hanger (steel, not replaceable) looks like it is bent - this would explain the crappy shifting. Anyone have an alignment tool I can borrow so I can bend it back?

Thanks

on a similar note;

I found out this afternoon why my chain failed the other day. My legs are just too much money for the frame's ass to cash. I was riding home from my parent's house in Everett, and about Lake Ballinger a link on the chain froze up. I thought this was rather odd, as it was a brand new chain on Thursday. Whatevs, and I gotta get moving. I took the link out, put the chain back together and kept on. Oh, Derrick, thanks for letting me hold onto the chain tool, it's been invaluable.

On the way again, and as I was rolling up Ravenna another link freezes. WTF, right? I'm basically cussing Nicki for selling me a defective chain to along with the improperly installed (or is it bent?) fork. The choice to grit out the skipping chain the last 15 blocks to get home was made and about 40 yards from my front door, at the intersection of 15th and 55th Ne I came to a clipped-in stop to wait for traffic. As I sashayed to get moving again a great bang went out from the back of the bike and the derailleur hit the ground.

(replacable) drop out hanger- assfuckingsploded.

yay bikes. The newest hunks of the Interurban are open north of Greenwood in the 160s to 180s, and it's nice. Check it out. Anyone heard about the trail in the CD/Beacon Hill, is it ready yet?

The cool thing about replaceable derailleur hangers is, you can keep a spare with you! After getting stranded on my mountain bike once, I always keep one with me now.

The cool thing is, my mtb and potential new road bike will have the same hanger! Woohoo!
