I'm sorry to say that our good friend Paul died yesterday.
I hope anyone who can will join me at the College Inn at 5:00 or whenever you can.
I'll tell you guys more details then as i'm still finding stuff out.

gather up all the info henry, find out what you can, and hopefully fill us in funeral/wake time if you get it. im there for sure.
i wont be able to make the college inn right at 5, but ill be heading that way as quick as i can
as corny as it sounds. ill bring the malt liquors... im sure paul would have enjoyed us having a malt toast/pour for him.
//edit.
just so there's no confusion, this is paul with the huge long red hair that rode the old schwin bikes, not p-diddy paul the ups driver

Even coming from a bunch of jokesters, I'm getting the feeling this is no joke. Please let us know what happened and what we can do to help. :(

CIP starting at 17:00 till ride time. I'll even go over to Red Square and make everyone who hasn't spotted this ride over to CIP for a beer. Paul would have liked that I think.

I am really sad. I miss him. And I will surely miss his sense of humor.
When he used to ride with us more (when his schedule allowed) I thorouly enjoyed his company. Paul was super smart and witty even if he seemed like a yokel on the surface. A most sincere human being.
Donkey Dicks!
Toast one to Paul[ina] for me tonight at CIP.
I will be downtown tonight around 10PM (previous plans) if anyone wants to have a drink at Shorties.
And just so you all know it. I love you all!

I will be on Lake Union in a stern-wheeler until later this evening (I shit you not). I might call someone later for a meetup location if y'all are not too far out.
Yes. I only met Paul a couple times and really enjoyed talking to him. I'll head over to CIP after work for a toast to him.

thanks to everyone that came out tonight. it was awesome to see so many people show up to show love.
there is still no word on the official memorial, but i'll keep you posted.
i'm sorry i got drunk and sappy, but goddamnit, if i want to cry about 'lina i'll do it all day long.
for the newbs that never met paul (and have probably never met me) i'll say this: paul was everything point83 ought be: funny as hell, smart as a whip and swifter on a bicycle than you'll ever be.
Imagine riding your bike to bellevue every day for work, then still showing up for tuesday and thursday rides. now imagine doing it on a 40 lb schwinn where the wheels hit the fenders on every rotation, and still being faster than most of us could ever hope to be. add some ridiculous turns of phrase, a billowing head of hair and a friendliness that seemed to know no bounds, and you have the paulina we loved.
peace out you bonerphones, ass stacks and butt-spealunkers,

I only got to hang out with Paul on a few occasions. He was one of the funniest and nicest guys I' ve met in this town. This is terrible.

People who love and ride bikes are supposed to die of old age while tooling around on their crusty old Schwinn, not when they're so damn young. If any of you other punks go dying on us I'll kill you. Life and the friends you make are so damn precious, don't ever let go. I'm so sorry you had to leave us so soon, Paul.
I'd like to have a checkpoint at Sunday's race in honor of Paul. Please send me some good ideas and we'll make it happen.

hey ya'll, i'm with henry on this - it meant alot to see so many people out last night at the cip to remember paul. i love this group.
i also know that this is a tough thing to deal with, the kind of thing that shakes you up. if anybody wants to hang out and talk, or grab a drink or go on a random bike ride you can give me a call - 206.227.8449, i'm sure i am not the only one who thinks that either.

being a noob to the group, i don't think i ever met paul .. but is very sad news just the same. for some weird reason i've lost a grip of friends in the last 3 yrs to very untimely passing, so i know the shitty hollow feeling of loss you guys are dealing with. my heart is with you.
pce.

I won't be able to make any functions this week, but please post funeral time and place as soon as possible. Paul was one of the first people I met in .83, and I always enjoyed riding with him. My personal favorite memory of him was bailing his Schwinn while he was trying to use a traffic cone as a megaphone on Alki.
RIP Paul, you'll be missed by many.

OMG, I had forgotten about that! That was so ridonkulous.
He was riding along alki, we were all very blitzed, this was after Scotty had crashed skitching on Justin's pants. He picked up a tall traffic cone while riding, raised it to his mouth and shouted, then promptly ate shit right in front of me. It was beautiful :)

OMG 2!
I was right next to Paul. I am laughing right now as I remember him going nose first into the pavement. He was OK and brushed it off in Paul-style.
Damn I miss him!
