my legs are sore in ways that they have never been on a bike before. i usually dont feel a thing riding unless i really put on the miles (80+). i think i probably got 20-25 on last night and i feel the rippage. i was bitching that my gearing was too easy and i was spinning out not able to go as fast as i wanted, then i hit some minor hills (west seattle bridge, 1st into westlake) and i realized that i had a happy medium, even those easy hills were harder to get up than i though
under carriage is soft and sensitive
time for a new saddle and some height adjustments
dont you all feel complete now?

Haha, I told you that you'd be finding all new mucles! Stay at it, the pain will go away in a day or two.

dont worry it gets better, on a fixie you fight the padals to slow so you find all sorts of muscles you never new you had. your undercarage should toughen up after a while but ive found that a narrow leather saddle works best for me. the laether is smooth and makes it easy to shift around without too much friction. friction+your crotch= tears
oh ya, what gear are you running?

yeah no one likes a torn crotch.
ive ridden this saddle before on my ten speed raleigh for miles and miles and never been sore. i think it has more to do with not being able to stand up as easily and stretch on a fix, i cant really coast and let my weight do the work on the downhill, im forced to be in the saddle more
im glad i was wearing the chamois shorts underneat, id be major sore if i was just in pants.

yeah ive got some cream stuff, bodyglide, that i bought for stp but never used it. i just dont get as sore on a road bike as i did on this fix.
i might slop it on next time i go out on it.
or i might make one of you do it.

i'll bring a spatula to jakes party, we could make a little game of it, kinda like pin the tail on the donkey.

Seriously though. When I looked at your saddle last night Derrick I could immediately see why it was uncomfortable. You really might want to look into something a bit more streamlined.
Here's a photo of Derrick's saddle so you guys can see what I'm talking about.

I will say that Derrick's saddle is a better choice than the Saddle that Xdeadxcellxxfxstopxx kid uses:
Really I reccomend that saddle for anyone who doesn't understand the fact that they just don't fit in with .83. We should order several of them and distribute them as necessary.
Hell, sometimes I'm tempted to give them a whole damn bike. Tell them to "sit on it and spin".
