Down to go for a spin? Me, Brian and a few other people are going to head for a fast ride out to the Kirkland Waterfront tonight along the BG. This will be a fairly speedy ride, with any luck sans flats, lost people, booze and trains.

I will be there at 6:30 PM. Look for my Big Yellow Xtracycle and Braxton running up and down the sidewalk like a madman.

So far we have Queen Anne residents, U District hoods and elriche, who I think lives in Ballard. It would make the most sense and be the kindest on hard-worked legs to just turn it around and head back on the BG than go back along 90.
If you really want booze by all means. It's just not in the plan to stop at a bar until afterwards if at all. All the PBR I've had in recent weeks is giving me some nasty acid reflux.

oh yeah. Forgot about that. I had to get my car out of the fucking impound after it was towed outside of my house. Because of this, I had no time to get home to even turn my computer on let alone shoot out what was up. We left at 7:15 or so, went up the BG, over Juanita Hill, down to old-towne Kirkland to Zeeks for pizza and beer, and then back home over I-90. After the downhill burn in to kirkland, none of us wanted to go back the way we came. 7:15pm-11:48pm roundtrip. I think we made good time for stopping for dinner.

The race across the bridge just before this shot was one of my favorite moments. I think my legs were pretty well shot for the night at this point, for today as well.

I'm all over regular sunday morning rides once labor day weekend is past. since a bunch of us are, ahem, "riding" the training wheels salmon spawn thingamy on the 18th, what if we mark that as the first official STP training ride, and then start doing regular sunday rides after that?

ill probably be doing the STP again in one day. on a geared bike again. 200 miles a day on a fixed gear sounds like death.

the biggest hill that i remember was going from lower puyallup up into south hill. wasnt too bad though. pretty similar to juanita. after that there were some rolling hills. especially the last 50 miles
there is a way to go around the north lake loop and miss most of juanita hill. jump off the BG trail about a mile farther down. hop off into the golf course parking lot right before that tunnel, and take a right down the street. you'll join up with the same route but only hit about half of that hill

That's why you run two gears. One on each side of the hub. That's what I'm gonna do.

im sure some of you will be able to make it, no doubt there. mike did 100 miles with us on a training ride on his fix, and he was kicking ass the entire way
not for me though. atleast not without fuckloads of training. ive only done a 25 mile ride on a fix so far and that kicked my ass pretty good.
i did get a freewheel for her though. that might help :)
