Don't know if many of you have heard, but Andre's dad passed away. Needless to say, he is going to miss the swap. So now I have 2 tickets up for grabs! Price is reduced to $1 per ticket (basically, Andre's ticket is free and Trevor already paid me $3 if he shows or not)

oh man. I'll take the ticket... I don't even like replying to this news.

I gave one ticket (for free) to Eric. I have one left with Langston's name on it left. Langston, if you don't show up by 7 AM, I am going to scalp it for $10.

No. Anyone that wants an Early Bird pass, Meet me at the Swap at 6 AM!

I will not be checking this message board between now and then. Call me at the shop. 938-9795

Trevor and Andre have dibs on 2 passes. I MIGHT have one or 2 more. Call me. Andre and Trevor, call me to verify you will be there.

This is the best I can offer, because I am too busy at the shop getting ready. Passes cost $5 each.

Dang I had fun at the bike swap. I came away with some great stuff, at killer rates. And damn Aaron, $130 for brand new 10spd 105 STIs? KILLIN ME! That was most of my entire budget for the day, I'm sorry I had to pass on them.

I landed:
$1 Wellgo SPD Pedals
$1 Mud Flap seat-post style fender
$2 carbon 1" front fork, out in the parking lot from Davis & Jill's female friend
$15 Ultegra 9spd cassette
$5 105 9spd Cassette
$5 Pedal Wrench
$6 set of Diacompe road brakes, out of a box of 50.
$18 carbon cross bars, like the ones Henry put on his bike, but nicer
$20 cycling jacket (was marked $50, misread tag and... it was really busy, she just took the 20 and walked away to the table with the hanger.)
$ 20 Race Blades
$70 B17 Brooks saddle, in black. lightly seasoned/used, fresh water treatment on it.

I came with only ~$60 and picked up:

$11 for a pair of point83 mudflaps
$1 for a handful of raod brake cables
$50 for an FSA Energy Compact ISIS Crank

The crankarms are only 172.5 instead of my current 175, but I figured at $50 I may as well give them a try. I was hoping to find a 1+1/8 threadless stem w/ oversized clamp and a high rise or some salsa bell lap bars.

i got a sturmey archer awc hub for $100. well, actually i got a bike with it too, so i'm going to put a normal aw hub on the bike and resell it. know anybody that wants a pretty cool (and very cherry!) raleigh mixte three speed? it could also be a fixie/singlespeed, though it'd need some tweaking.

miles brought home a full suspension mountain bike for $350 with new cranks and tires.

we also rode up every hill in ne seattle en route to the fiddler's inn and then back to greenlake.

Best deal I saw at the bike swap: a 1966 peugeot px-10 frame in beauteous condition for $20. The frame was too big for me, not to mention the problems that go along with it's frenchiness, but, damn, if I had my wits I would've picked it up and turned a nice ebay profit on that one.

New retail is about $300! I sold them for $100 (50 LESS than I paid!) They had been sitting around for a while.

Sorry Trevor, PM, email, forum, etc is way too slow when one is busy. I thought the price was $3 but they raised it. AND THEY CUT MY EXTRA PEOPLE FROM UNLIMITED TO 2!

Next year .83 needs it's own table. I offered the same deal last year, same lame result, no one took me up on the offer! I saw Derrick as I was leaving (my booth was packed up!).

I got a carbon fiber spoke protector, a Zzipper fairing, a Mavic Metronic rear derailleur and a Marzocchi z3 for 10 bucks! I also purchase a bunch of books I did not have in my shop library for $100

I love swap meets! Next on is in March.

I got, for five bucks, a plastic desk-accessory model of a bicycle called “Midfielder Writing Bicycle” that comes apart to reveal pens, protractors, paper clips, and other office supplies, whose slogan is, in slightly fractured Japanese to English translation, “Enjoy Your Desk Work in Play Mind.”

I get my own table every year and it is the best way to go. Find 2 or 3 friends and split it with them. Go through your parts piles and sell things that you don't need anymore. Get in early and get some of the deals before the general public does.

I had a good but not great swap. I sold most of what I brought and that was good. I was hoping to find some old Trek road frames (1984 or earlier) in 57cm (22.5"). There were tons of old Treks, but none in my size.

The swap has different dynamics every year. Last year folks mostly wanted built up bikes, this year it seemed like frames and parts were selling better.

I found the best deals on chainrings. I got 4 brand new good quality chainrings in sizes that I wanted (34/110, 36/110, 46/110, 44/94) for $8 total. I also stocked up on bottom brackets, rear derailleurs, and other small items.

The best part about having a table and selling your junk is that it increases your swap budget. I entered with one pile of junk and $200 and left with a smaller pile of junk, parts that I needed, and $300.
