i keep forgetting to check the admin panel to authorize newbies. just did it. hes clear to post now
lee put a high powered spam bot filter on the admin section of the forum, while there isnt any spam because of it, there is a lag on the time when new posters sign up and they have access, because we have to go in and manually turn them on. if anyone else hears about someone needing access, just yell at me or lee and we'll go in there and make it happen

Maybe we don't want folks who don't actually ride with us?
The forum is for folks who know eachother, NOT for spammers (even bike related spanners).
The rule (guideline) has always been ride with us first, then post here.
Oh, how I miss the days of flaming jordanfstop. However, he finally came and rode with us and it was all good.

nothing about jordanfstop begs the words "all good."

not really, i check the list of pending users probably five to ten times a day at least.
for comparison's sake, we have a total of 304 legitimate registered users in the past 18 months. since i started this method of authenticating them about six weeks ago, i have deleted 1101 users.
i'm hoping the new board will have better spam-catching on individual posts so we can just delete users with too high a ratio of spam posts automatically, but until then this is better than the buggy spamfilter implementation we had before.

yeah i check it periodically as well. doesnt take too long for them to get admined on.
it's way easier than manually deleting the posts as we were doing before :)
