Yo, anyone have any great ideas for using unmanned checkpoints in a race. Ones that are %100 cheat proof?
Writing things down is great, but thanks to cell phones, not bullet-proof.
Rubber stamps? Misc. trinkets from Archie Mcphee? Crayon tracings? Real Change?

Stamp pads with different colored ink pads hidden in locations. Make them letters that aren't "Transferable" like "A" and go with "G" and make them collect the letters.
We did it in college for a Wheel of Fortune pub crawl (stamps are numbered so you know where on your card they go). Once you figured out the word, you raced home. Smarter folks got to drink less, but there also a prize for "most stamps".

yeah, having people buy stuff is good but then, i could just send somebody off to pick up two or three of whatever is needed? if two or three folks collude in a race it's pretty easy to split up the checkpoints...
pretty cheatproof would be giving everybody a polaroid and making them get a picture of themself at several locations? maybe holding their manifest?
that'd be tough to fake.
another thought is that you do an in-order alleycat, but somehow require the location to know where to go to next, in a way that cheating doesn't help.
i.e. the first checkpoint leads you to 2143 5th, look at the fourth bus time and go to that address on 10th, on tenth look across the street and get the middle two addresses, head to that address on 35th ne, etc... there are numbers everywhere.
the trick there is laying it out such that if i send daniel off to checkpoint one, and he calls me with checkpoint two, he'd actually be closer to checkpoint two and really have no clue where checkpoint three was so it'd be impossible to improve our results by passing on information.
whether that'd be a fun race or not, i leave up to your discretion.

im setting up non manned checkpoints on the FHR. people will be given a location and told to write down specific information based on that location on their manifest.
im going to hand out manifests on the other side of the water to make sure that we all leave at the same time and have a fair start.
it gets pretty hard to stamp out cheating 100 percent unless you have a manned checkpoint... but i haven't seen too much cheating on the races ive done over the years.

i plan on cheating no matter what you do.
and if that doesn't work, i'll just steal the prizes.

Can't we just ride the race-route that coincides with the Chilly Hilly? It's not like there is a big ol' established transportation grid to bop around.

we are running the same course, just adding a few "gotta find that" checkpoints on the route. it'll be easy and very very clear to understand, dont worry

i'm lazy (and knocked up on narcotics), can one of you fuckers post the route/distance/ect ?
My 13yo son wants to go do this (he also wants to be a spoke card carrying member of pointhomoeroticathree) and i'd like to give him an idea just what the hell he's gettin into.

I douubt he'd have too much trouble on the route, I've seen kids on this ride before. But as for the .83 faction, just keep him away from Henry and Ben and he should be safe.

I'll let him bring his Airsoft machine gun. If they get close, he has permission to open fire!
That should give me enough time to ram them in the legs with the saw blade. Maybe we all take turns ass raping all 3!
