I got five to ride Greenlake tonight, say around midnight. Beer sounds good too!

I mean I've got a group of five to ride. Beer still sounds good.

oh. well that's much less exciting. Just cruising laps around the lake isn't really....enough. Come find us around midnight, we might still be out, drinking somewhere.

hmm. $5 entry, five laps, prizes for first around each lap and a bonus prize for the overall winner?

I like this bicycle-Nascar idea of yours. Make each lap worth 1/10th of the cash pot, winner takes the rest, or split the rest 50-30-20 for 1st 2nd & 3rd.

I've got to dart over th Nygaard's house to borrow his pedal wrench, but my fast bike is going to be on the road tonight.

What more could you ask for? Bombing around the lake, drinking? It's cheaper than the bar, and I can't ride my bike in the bar, or can I?

s/lake/city/ and we're in business. that is to say, ride around the city & drink, and then go to the bar if you get tired?

besides that it takes about 10 minutes, going slowly? If I wanted to do that I could just bring a beer to the gym.

I was thinking 8-10 laps. I can't smoke in the gym either.

Holy crap guys, this is getting too complicated! 1 lap, one race, once a month. Keep Greenlake simple. Greenlake is about liquid prizes, rotating trophies, and trackstands, not money, or miles, or even NASCAR. Have you guys forgotten the beautiful simplicity of this venue as a .83 tradition? If I didn't know any better I'd think you guys wanted to turn squid, recruit sponsors, dress up, and race a criterium too. Let's just ride bikes, and occasionally ride bikes real fast.

Of course, the idea of a .83 race team this summer is actually pretty kick ass.

actually, that would be pretty damn cool. I'm more than happy to hit the longer road races, too.
