Hello all,
I'm pretty new to Seattle. I'll be honest, Ive been off the bike for a few years while living in S.E Asia, after several years racing bikes in Europe. I've let go of the gears, just ride my fixie, and was looking for some people to ride with. I guess, those of you who don't mind a fixed gear along for the ride. I've just been cruising around on my own for the past month or so, but would like to meet some of you locals. I really don't know any of the roads here; just sort of put the wheels down and roll. If there are some fixed gear rides, that are not invite only, I'd love to join along some time if possible.
Thanks
henry

Come out on a tuesday or thursday ride. Usually about half the people are on fixed gear bikes, it doens't really matter what you ride.
I'll plan on making one, if not both, of these nights.
Much appreciated! Thanks for the Map links also.
Anything on the weekends?

Damn Miles, Why you gotta go and make it so easy to find us? The first challenge to getting a TOS is finding the location of the rides.

So i figured I'd erase the map from my mind, leave the directions at home, and and wear a blind fold.

Stop posting unless you ride with us! Joby, Ben, Derrick, Lee? How come no one around here anymore gives the random posters a hard time anymore?

Aaron, shut the fuck up, you're the reason that tuesdays rides have been like 6 people max and only go like 3 miles...
bodi, welcome to seattle and unless i'm getting ass fucked by some random piece of network hardware I'll see ya tuesday or thursday.

yeah well... it's still all your fault, like the rain today, and the fact that I forgot my rain shell, and ummm stuff...
and for the record, that was the first real tuesday ride in like a month, they have been rather lackluster as of late. again your fault.

I hope we didn't scare away a new person, you cranky old bastards.
Tuesday's ride was my first Tuesday-Ride and I quite enjoyed it. Thank you.
Thursday's ride was also quite fun; the long, not-too-steep hills were nice, I felt like I'd accomplished something(?).
Lurkers, come ride.

I hope that's not the case.
it's true, I've done a fair amount of harassing people who want to join "The online community" without actually riding bikes with us. Bodi here has done nothing of the sort. He's posted a couple times, TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO RIDE WITH US.
I get grumpy with never-rides-with-us people around post 50.
Bodi: Ride with us! Argue with us online! We're glad you here.
Aaron: STFU. Seriously.

Good thing I'm not too, too sensitive. I was a bit thrown, at first, seeing that I had never posted anything until yesterday. Nonetheless, I just want to meet and ride with some new people. I guess I'm running out of things to talk about with myself. Providing I can get out of the water in time to make a ride, I'll be there. I'm planning on Tuesday, with enough Lube to go around.

Couple things:
1. Visibile Squid wear isn't "cool" (Squid == racer set == lycra).
2. Pace is social (e.g. beer in hand)
3. Aaron really is a nice guy

If you're planning on that kind of action I would bring that blindfold you mentioned, too.

yeah, good thing!
uh, BTW...what the fuck are you doing in the water, are you a fish?
note that Aaron sometimes rides this goddamn tall bike (which is really easy to push over), rides can include stops at local "collection stops" (aka; dumpsters) for "goodies"...don't be offended...crap is as readily given as it is taken, bring liquor if your old enough to buy it, and anybody that you'd need lube for you'd NEED a blindfold fold for too!!
Trust me on that...they put the "F" in fugly!

Understand...
No "squid" style on a ride. No problem, except for I often I enjoy a silky pair of Bib's under my jeans. What will I do with my brand spankin new "Mapei" team kit? I don't usually tell strangers this, but I enjoy a little dab of Chamois Butter on occasion(minus the chamois, of course)
I'm pretty slow, so it's comforting to know that the pace is casual. That's assuming that "casual" does not mean 30mph in between Dumpsters. If so, I will probably just hang out with the Dumpster wearing my blindfold.
Sometimes I pretend that I'm a fish, but usually I just work underwater(Diver).
On another note, I finally found the main Point83 page. I guess i followed a link to the forum, and somehow bypassed the page that gives all the ride info, joining info, and "about" information.
I'll leave it at this until i meet some of you guys and girls. Look forward to a ride.

Yeah, you'd think that you would learn that and stop doing it to people you don't know really well. Maybe even put a disclaimer about it in your sig file, again...
