Someone on a ride said that they wanted one of these. I think it was rlotz. I'm planning to mess with my colonies on Saturday, so I could bring some extras to the FHR on sunday. Let me know if you'll be there and desire a colony.

Thank you for the offer. I'll be out of state starting next week until mid march so probably not the time to start a batch of kombucha. I'd love to grab a slab of fungus from your next batch though. If you're interested I have some handouts on cultured foods and a book called "Wild Fermentation" if you're interested on more reading.

After reading the wikipedia article on it, I am interested in your Kombucha culture. I've wanted to get my hands on a proper bread culture for awhile as well, if any of yous has one pluggin along in the fridge.
I dated a girl once, back in the day, whose parents had bread culture from their wedding, 30 years previous. It made great bread but they wouldn't share unless/until I married their daughter... who turned out to be crazy and a bigger drunk than me.
Sounds like something bad that happened in my bagina once.
Don't worry, its better now.

/ramble.
Since the advent of the bread dumpster, I haven't been able to convince myself to bake bread much. Just pizza crust and cinnamon rolls and stuff like that. My dad has a good sourdough culture, but he lives in MN.
Sunday I will bring colonies.

so my first batch is done and in the fridge. It took an extra bit of time as it started out in a cold cupboard, but things happened faster when I put it up next to the coffee pot where it's warmer.
Tastes..... good! In a weird, Megan's not going to drink it kinda way
